Coo-ee!

@Titus - just saw your 290kg squat on IG. For fuck's sake man, not even remotely grindy, a fairly even pace throughout

Cheers mate, I'll post it up here shortly. A lad at the gym who is rarely complimentary said that he thinks I have 330kg in me when technical issues are ironed out. I think that's a stretch to say the least, but today I probably could have grinded 300kg and that's with mashed up shoulders that allow very limited upper back and lat tightness at the moment, so we're going to work on it.

I was also amused when I was told it was 3" high. We set up a depth cam and it was borderline, but certainly not 3" high  I think some need to watch this:

The Lilliebridges get squats about 3 inches higher than yours today passed all the time.

You might have an issue in a 'proper' federation but it was at best marginally above parallel (even from seeing the angle above your hips). You are right, better safe than sorry but it's clearly within you to go lower than that and make the lift.

Judging at this comp should be of a similar standard to Euros. I didn't see anything passed that didn't deserve to be, but no ridiculous IPF decisions where somebody nearly knocks their teeth out with their knees and still gets red lighted.

Anyway, here's the video. Plenty of technique stuff to be ironed out, but 700lbs should be there early next year:

Sets looked like this:

65kg x 5
105kg x 3
145kg x 3 (2)
185kg x 1 paused
225kg x 1
265kg x 1
285kg x 1
290kg x 1

Then benched up to 155kg x 2

Pulled my thigh playing football the other ngiht so will be giving weights a rest this week.
Football ruins everything for me like

I seem better squatting atg which gives me momentum to force through the 90 degrees instead of pausing and pushing from there, someone's watched and told me my arse virtually hits my legs before I push up, I've bought some weightlifting shoes and I now need an approved belt and possibly wraps and I'll be able to compete.

The wife kicks off when I spend any money on lifting, when I'm world champ I'll tell her she isn't allowed to bask in my glory and I'm telling everyone she was the biggest hinderence fighting me about going to the gym, refusing to buy me the right food, generally being obstructive in any way she can.

Also her and my mam try to get me to take up swimming, swimming ffs, I'm like a t Rex and they think I'll fancy swimming.

Women are arseholes like. ...

Anyway my training is professing canny after injury.

Feathery and likes to scavenge dead animals carcasses?

Wired at the minute I dropped a pre-workout at 9pm and was in the gym until 11pm...still buzzing about

Nice session though on a non programmed day - I pushed out 100 chin ups, worked my biceps heavily and did quite a lot of cardio.

Tomorrow is deadlifts, my PR is 150kg but I haven't failed yet (only been doing them a month or so) so going to work to failure tomorrow and see what 1RM is - I think I will get 165 or close.

Started weight training in November last year and it's all been self taught, so much more to learn and incorporate but loving it :)

I'm in the mood for a 300kg squat next week before I deload. Only issue is I can't train with the usual lot in the AM and the only other people I know training aren't doing so until 8pm. There's a well equipped gym where I'll be working, but the issue is the personel. Going to try and have a nap on my dinner
