is it always best to have this setting on? I usually have my TV set to movie mode (actually a custom setting I saw on an LG forum for my telly). All game mode seems to do is make the picture REALLY bright.

Figure out what settings you prefer looking at tbh, simple as that. depends on your room, lighting etc as well

Check out the related thread on here. I outlined some technical details why TVs can be very different to monitors for games. I'd home game mode turns off all of these the things I mentioned.

I did, that's why I created this thread really. To summarise, you'd say deffo use game mode? I just thought the game mode on TVs affected the motion handling, like sports mode, but maybe I was wrong.

I don't want to. This is the SMB, help me.

Depends also on your individual TV and how many things are individually adjustable on it, I have my console on a monitor that I used for PC games in the past, so no personal experience. Probably the best place to find the info would be an outside forum where all the tech wizards live that have group wanks over the polling rates of their mice etc.

Yes it might look shite but having any setting that enhances the picture will give you extra input lag, means nowt for average joe but a few milliseconds can make a difference to a pro cod player

On my TV it prevents the game from looking like the framerate is tearing when the gameplay gets a bit fast. I always have game mode on.

When Project Cars was released a lot of people were having problems with ghosting effects on the PS4 version. My Sony TV had them in abundance, since turning game mode on (my TV has one of the quickest refresh rates around when this is turned in) the blurry ghosting effects disappeared. It can be different from one TV to another but I won't okay any other way. You can easily adjust brightness, contrast etc till you've got a picture you like if it becomes to bright and over exposed when turned on
