I dont really know.. mls? League 2? The England Germany game yesterday? I know you cant compare the men's and womens games, but this has honestly been laughable
So why do it? MLS? League 2? Those players destroy the salaries these girls make. No players on this japanese team earns more than 20k USD. All these women have 2nd jobs and play 1/10 games of men.

Bit of a contradiction here? One minute you're saying it was designed for Canada to have the easiest path, but then a mismatch if Japan made the final?

Oh and Japan have reached the last 2 major finals prior to this World Cup.
That's because they are among the very best in the world at women's football.
Which says it all really.

1.) Check the average salary of some of the US players. Smashes the salary of many FL players. Some of the japanese players are also on bigger wages. This is the pinnacle of the womens game, are you telling me that the best they can aspire to is this?

Not sure how reliable that site is, but a few get a bit more than that and a couple considerably more. I'd imagine Morgan's will include sponsorships and what not.

Still though the top 10 getting $60,000 which is just under £40,000 which will be the average a premier league player gets a week. So no comparison at all.

Japan are ranked 4th in the world and have not been as good as the other 3 in the last year. They were also extremely fortunate to beat the US 4 years ago. That was a huge upset helped by a huge defensive breakdown. Canada would always be an underdog in the semis against Japan, but there has to be 3 group winners in each half of the bracket. By rank it was literally the easiest bracket possible for Canada. They just didn't take advantage because England played great.

Bloody hell, we get it, the football is of a lower standard. It'll never improve either if people just write it off like many are doing. I haven't watched huge amounts but from the little I have seen it seems to be improving. Hopefully it continues to do so and gets more and more competitive. There's one or two players that are really very good, and I think that shows the women's game still has plenty of potential.

League one makes more then the average mls players. Name me a japanese player that earns more than 25k. The best keeper in the womens game is Hope Solo and her yearly salary/income in 60k. Yes, why kill yourself over working a mediocre salary they can earn much better going to school?

There is no interest in professional women's "soccer" in the USA for some reason. The last 2 leagues before the current version folded after just a few years. The only time I ever went to a women's game I saw Mia Hamm play back in 2002 in the WUSA and the 6,000 seat stadium wasn't half full. Most teams in the current league don't average 3,000 fans.

FL = football league. The Japanese captain made 30 k in 2011.

I wouldn't worry about it...the people who keep saying they hate it are watching every minute...

Found the numbers. In the NWSL in the USA. The maximum salary is $37,800 and the average is something around $13,000!! I think they might have an MLS like rule where they can pay more to make sure they keep a big name in the league.

I'm not seeing that anywhere, what source are you using? That being said that tells you how poor women salaries are and why only idiot would fully invest on it without putting another job (primary) first in focus. MLS median salaries are comparable with league one no?

There you go, I highly doubt aya miyama makes 30k a year.

NWSL can pay as little as $6,842 for a 6 month season. That's appalling. There's no way that meets minimum wage requirements.
The minimum wage is 7.25 usd. You think average person at mcdonalds makes over 10k a year? All those women have an actual 2nd job I'm sure. A good one at that.

Example: Say minimum wage is $ 7.75
Student available M-F (5 days) from 4 to 8 pm.
4 hours x 5 days = 20 hours
20 hours x $ 7.75 = $ 155.00 week
52 weeks x $ 155.00 = $ 8,060.00 Gross wages

My source was a news article. You said name one japanese player and i named one. Look. Im not getting into this mens v women argument.

Ok. so two things.

1.) Here's the article, it appears to have been delted, but it did back what I said. I can't find anything else, but I'm sure I could if I looked hard enough.

2.) I never made any claims as to the average wages in the women's leagues, only to some of the players currently playing. Look, I'm not going to get into an argument about mens soccer v. womens. All I will say is the following: The defending was poor. Straight up, poor. It eventually improved towards the end, but it was terrible for anyone. I think it's sexist for you to force me to accept anything poor in women's football, and then, when I criticize them, you come down on me like a ton of bricks. I criticize because I believe that eventually, they can be better. I don't just accept a terrible standard and then say, "oh it's women, so its ok." no. Physical differences aside, there is no reason that a woman can't be tactically (in terms of vision/positioning) as good as a man. But that's not what I've seen. Period. If you deny any of this, then you're being disingenuous.

So no sources then? (no need since I looked for you) There isn't any japanese player that earns over 20k based on the average american women league salary (The maximum salary is $37,800 and the average $13,000)and just using logic on salaries around the mens game. No one is forcing you to accept anything. You said the standard is compared to womens football which no shit it is based on the salaries they make and how much they play. Physical differences/Pay/Play time are 99% different in both level. Positioning and physical ability are not mutually exclusive surely. And you're right about vision but what are you implying the vision is made for? Passing? That takes physical traits and the quality depends once again on how much it is worked on. If you're surprised it's shocking compared to mens then you are simply an idiot for not realizing it.

This is a part time job the lasses and but lets say this were their only job, my nephew makes more then most of them working on a desk and computer at 21. He's also an idiot.
