Running Thread 2015

I'm not a fan either. I just mix my own isotonic drink from coconut water, orange juice, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, lime juice & a large pinch of ordinary table salt & a couple of large pinches of LO Salt. Tastes great & without all the additives in the commercial stuff.

It's the potassium I worry about most. I know mine goes a bit low sometimes as they check it when they do my bloods.

Got some High 5 Zero ones, but he doesn't like the taste of them!

Been out and done 1.6 miles and it was really hard going. You know when you open the oven door and get a blast of heat in your face? It felt like that all the time but not as hot obviously.
I find the taste a bit minging, but I just drink it anyways.

Have a look at electrolyte tabs, cheaper.
I've got Danielles number if you need it

Aye mate , send me it if don't mind, sorted with Kev for Sunday though, he's a toppa lad so wanted t see if he was free first. Legs have been aching a lot lately so thought worth try. Think they're reminding me it wasn't long back I was knackered .
Stuck on metro with post works night out hangover, gonna do a 30min easy run straight after work, toppa weather for steady/easy runs

Really looking forward to the Great North 10k tomorrow, I'm still a slow coach but I'm just looking at finishing as being my goal rather than worrying about times!!

I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest. Totally under-prepared and to top it off I'm coming down with a cold. Hoping just to enjoy the day, get round and treat it as a lesson learned.

Just out of a nice hot bath after my Hamsterly expedition. It was warm, the banks were long and arduous. After 14.2 mile I was into the unknown and it showed, bones of my arse the last 3 mile with aching feet while getting eaten alive by midges wasn't pleasant at all but I soldiered to the finish. Was only suppose to be 18.5 mile long but all our watches clocked it at 19.1 mile. The last stretch was windy so I was looking at my watch at 18.3 mile thinking the finish was just round the corner only to be met by another stretch of road. Was proper going off it as I was dead on my feet:lol:

Great expericnce though and feeling proud of myself as never ever thought when I first started running I could manage a 19 mile run. 10 of us from the running club went through and was good crack and camaraderie as we shouted each other over the line. Running club social night tonight so looking forward a good few beers and some bait. I think its been earned;)

Oh aye and my time was 3hr 7 minutes

Did he say how long out for mate?
And are you able to cycle or swim in the meantime ?- if can its a great way to maintain most of your fitness

No time scale yet fletch I am back there we'd morning and hopefully will find out more, my back today is worse than its been for the last 3 weeks were he had his hands in testing and prodding, time for me to take a few weeks of I think, I ain't got a clue how this has happened, I.e running our just everyday life so I'm not going to beat myself up I'm just going to get fat for a month then have something to work off next month.
