Durham Negativity

Quite surprised at some of the negativity on here regarding certain Durham players.

We are top of the championship and 20/20 table and are current holders of the one day cup.

The amount of sniping on here is embarrassing to be honest. The two best sides in history were built on the best bowlers to ever play the game not the batting.

Every other county would love to be in Durhams position right now. Lets not forget where we were as a county 10 years ago.... abysmally bad. Give me Mustard over Speight any day of the week

Not every player will be in form all the time it's natural and nothing unusual. Additionally all sides will be more reliant on their better players it's no surprise that England are playing better now that Cook is in Nick.

Instead of berating McLeod I'd be asking why a guy who scored a double hundred in the Aussie own back yard spent 5 games hiding at 6c and not showing the younger guys how to do it.

I've always thought some of the criticism is a bit over the top but I completely disagree with you regarding McLeod. His job is to score runs, he isn't doing that, and I think it's only fair people query why others aren't getting a chance. It would be concerning if nobody in the 2nd XI were scoring runs.

Mustard deservedly dropped as well because he's been absolutely shite for a good while.

Plenty to be happy about. I'm a big fan of Richardson, personally believe he gets a raw deal off some people but then again I don't think Stoneman is as good as some make him out to be. All about opinions

Very happy to see us top of both leagues.

Aye have a go at the guy averaging 61 with the bat.

This After you've just had a go at people questioning macleod and mustards place in the side. When the latter is our lowest run scorer with 51 averaging 7.

Aye interesting thread there mate.

Big difference between Mcleod and Mustard. Mcleod is a guy in his mid 20s who Durham have taken a punt on and he looks well short on the required standard, if he was a teenager you could say go back to the 2nds work on your game, score some runs and you can make the grade. At 26 i don't see there can be any huge improvement that can be made in Mcleods game.
Mustard over the years is a proven performer and been one of Durhams better players. He was quite rightly dropped last season because he was not performing. At the start of this season one of the decisions Durham had to make was who kept wicket and probably Mustard deserved the chance because of what he has done over the years but his form has been desperate and again quite rightly dropped.
If Richardson keeps wicket to an adequate standard and is able to keep scoring the amount of runs he does which is ok but nothing special then i can't see a way back into the championship side for Mustard for some time.

Agree with the sentiments alot, then you had a dig at Colly for no apparent reason

Our fans have got too used to success like

Look at the likes of Surrey, we are very lucky

I think what we are doing now with our budget and players available is a miracle

Annoys me how much press Yorkshire get for winning that title, the year before has to go down as one of the biggest upsets, in the title run on our attack was full of kids, Peter Chase, Arshad etc
 
People always want more. Fact of life. Unbelievable success recently given we are a largely home built team. Speaks volumes for the likes of Jon windows.
