None at all, I have no view at all on it.

As for us, I think we need to show real ambition.

Your hero (as your avatar would indicate), succeded by daring to think bigger and bolder than was generally accepted, not by being restricted to what had gone before.
He didn't think bigger or bolder he just devised a game plan (within the laws of the game) to nullify the opposition.
Nothing delusional or unrealistic in what he done.

Hit the ball or get out the way then!
The don still averaged over 50 so it was possible.
No finer sight than whinging Aussies!

To be fair there was and only ever has been one Don Bradman. Jardine designed bodyline with him specifically in mind and yet he still hit the runs, though he wasn't getting 4000 in a sesh:)

He did, he analysed the current situation, the opposition, and the relative strengths of his and their team, he then worked out how to unsettle and therefore defeat them.

Is that not thinking bigger to you? Or are we going to get bogged down with semantics?

It wasn't silly or delusional though was it which is really my point.

Cut his average in half though to a scratchy 50 odd!
Don't think there's ever been a sportsman so far ahead of anyone before or since in their chosen field.

Totally different examples though really.
It isn't realistic to expect us to bring in any of the managers mentioned in first two sections.

You have low expectations, which is a good way to avoid dissapointment.

At some point if we actually want to be a success, we are going to have to be more ambitious.

I'm sure you would've said the same about Advocaat...
Not really. He's hardly managed any of Europes superpowers has he. He was also very much on the wind down as well.

I have realistic expectations.
It's sheer fantasy to think a Benitez, ancellotti or hiddink would come here.
Like it or not we are a small fish in the top flight of English football. Do you think any of these names mentioned would be interested in taking over a west brom or villa? Of course they wouldn't so why would they entertain us?

Can't say a massive fancy for anyone other than allardyce. Possibly laudrup although even that doesn't fill me with excitement.

I don't think Laudrup is realistic either...maybe if we had more technical players but I don't think with our set up, he would touch us...

It's a lot more realistic than a lot of the names mind.
Someone like Dyche would a possibility as well.
We aren't going to be getting any marquee names.
