Headhunters trekking in Borneo...

First holiday with missus.. Jamaica and Miami.

Actually the Monday to Fridayholidays iI had as a kid to Blackpool will always hold good. Even though it gets ripped to pieces Ijhave a real affection for the place

I would have happily paid to come home Becs. Full of germans.

Awww what a shame!

It was mixed nationalities where we were. Portinatx is a tiny resort on the northern tip of the island with a very laid back chill out feel, and nothing like the perception people have of Ibiza. We went in August and the perseids were on. The hotel we were on was on the edge of town, so one night we walked round the headland to the next beach where it was pitch black and lay on the beach. Bairns had a cracking view of the milky way and saw millions of shooting stars. That's the best way of teaching them stuff

Three times in five years back in the mid 80s I went on a ( iirc) Continental or Eastern Airlines "EuroRail type pass" around the US.

Basically as many flights as you wanted over a set period (3 or 4 weeks for us) none pre booked. You just turned up at the airport and booked a seat on any flight that day with empty seats. We didnt care where we went and just asked the girls on the airport desks which flights had four empty seats.
We were flying all ower after a couple of days in every city. Charlotte, Washington, Jacksonville, Detroit, LA, Vegas, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Frisco, San Diego, Kansas, Atlanta, St Louis, Orlando, Daytona, New Orleans, Austin, Vancouver, Hamilton, Toronto and a fair few more on either planes or trains. Drove from LA to Vegas one year via Palm Springs once.

9/11 put paid to that sort of deal I believe but Ive never checked if they still do owt like it. If they do Id recommend it to anyone.

Get off your phone and look out the window. I went from Geneva to Milan and its supposed to be one of the most picturesque train rides in the world. Italian Job country.
Was pretty cool skirting the foothills of the Alps the whole way.

I was lucky cos in 2007 I had 3-4 months travelling all round Italy. Love the place.

2 weeks in St Lucia in 1974 - superb.

The flights were once a week and the crew that brought you stayed for a week and then took the next flight back. We were told not to go out of the complex at night. We were in the south of the island and it took 3 hours to travel by road to Castries, the capital, in the north of the island. When we landed the customs was in a shed and out of a plane load of over 200 they checked 10 passengers and the rest of us were take straight to the hotel. How is that for being laid back.

In Rome at the moment and it's absolutely fantastic. Truly stunning place how it's stood the test of times.

Nice city but a little dated for me

Aruba in the carribean. Been last 3 years, such a quiet tranquil place. Not going this year as we doing the Orlando thing

The first time you see it though. It's just so unique. Me and the missus were really taken aboack. We went out looking for a cocktail. Literally turned a corner and stumbled upon the colosseum by chance. Tremendous.

It's a beautiful city, historic buildings on every street corner, food and wine are excellent too
