Thoughts ahead of this? Do we read anything into Clark getting brought into the T20 squad?

Poynter 119 & 70 for the 2nd XI this week. Muchall 141 & 36.

With no disrespect to Gordon Muchall, this is an unbelievable decision and can only be put down to the "old boys network", and I mean Colly, Lewis and Muchall.
Poynter is the best keeper in the club and this season has scored 2 hundreds, a 90 and a 70 for the seconds and a 100 for Ireland A.
What more does the lad have to do ?
To give the gloves to Richardson, who has not kept wicket this season, is an added pressure when he is not scoring a lot of runs.
Every season, we go back to Muchall; where does that leave Graham Clark as well as Poynter ?
Unless we put the younger plays into the first team, how will we ever know if they are good enough ?

Sadly Graham Clark isn't troubling the scorer in most of the 2nd games this season plus the batters in postion 1, 2 and 3 have had good scores recently so the options would be Muchall, Pringle or Poynter.

I'd have been tempted to put Pringle in ..... WAIT this isn't the team that's been announced it's the squad and Pringle is in.

Pringle's way into the side is at the expense of McLeod, if Colly decides to go this way.
Noticed recently that McLeod is now bowling off spin rather than his medium pace, so interesting decision for Colly to make.

Agree with a lot of that but I believe Richardson is doing alright at the moment. I do agree that Poynter deserves a chance, I would have been happy to see Poynet as wicketkeeper and leave Richardson as he is. Mustard deserves dropping though, he's been poor for a long time. Muchall has had some good knocks this season for the 2nd XI but agree with the point you make about him

Muchall is what he is. He is too good for the seconds but not good enough, consistently, for the first team 4 day side.
Other batters have come and gone with similar, or better, stats, but Muchall remains.
The line has to be drawn somewhere and to me he is now blocking younger batters who deserve a chance at first team level.
Muchall has never nailed down a regular first team batting slot in all his career. Others wish they had the same number of chances.
Agree with dropping Mustard but Poynter should be his replacement. Let Richardson concentrate on his batting.

Some rain forecast for tomorrow morning - could mean a delayed start. Either way it's something to take into account at the toss.

Pringle has to play.

I'd go

Stoneman
Jennings
Borthwick
Richardson
Collingwood
Muchall
Pringle
Hastings
Coughlin
Rushworth
Onions

Poynter has had three good knocks this year but a lot of shit scores too;

I'd go Stoneman, Mustard, Borthwick, Jennings, Muchall, Colly, Rico+, Pringle, Hastings, Rushy, Onions

Mustards not in the squad and when he's averaging 7 with the bat you have him to open?

Areet there marra?

Whey who opens? Jennings has been dog shite too this season. I'm out of ideas, see if KP fancies a few games for us, I'm not sure? Areet there marra?

When did mustard last open in the CC for us like. And he has 51 runs this season only onions has scored less. So to have him to open is a bizarre one.

Jennings hasn't been great but rocky only has 41 runs more.
