Running Thread 2015

got up on sunday with the intention of doing pier to pier but after a night out on the Saturday and having to get up during the night for the bairns I could not bring myself to race so I did a 13.1mile jog instead, 5 mile on the sand and steps of south shields on Monday and a 7 mile jog tue afternoon followed by 2 miles at 6.30min just trying to pace things for future races if I can get easily comfy at 6.30 I will be happy, and then a mile of hills after that.Rested yesterday and just done another 13.1 at dinner time today, I went swimming on tue for the 1st time in a long time and am heading to the pool after work as I fancy doing a tri some time soon.

im a poor swimmer and have never road a bike since school I don't think, so its something im going to do. I might have to use arm floaters and stabilizers for a bike but I will do one this year.

Cheers mate....looks like you're back into things as well, hows your foot/ankle? Great time of year to be fit and running again.
I'm not out the woods yet mate , on / off, but I'm trying ... Good to see your back into it , appreciate it more when had a bad injury.
Was out for a 40min steady run this morning and was toppa in that sunshine . Few beers this afternoon thru Newcastle to cancel out the good work

Just got 10 mile in in prep for durhsm coast half marathon. Beautiful conditions and lovely to run back along the beach banks towards horden. It's a gorgeous stretch of coastline and great to see many families enjoying it on my travels

Time was 1.28.31 for those interested

Anyone done the George Ogle ?
I hear there's 2 steep climbs of a viaduct for walking up around about the middle , but the rest is flat...
And should I go for trail instead of normal road shoes?

Aye, couple of climbs, one with steps. Last mile or so largely downhill though. Really good race overall, I'd wear road shoes. Missing it this year as I'm away, good luck though. Few from our club doing it, loads of strollers there last year too. Enjoy

shelli gordon currently leading the hardmoors 160 (that's miles) by some distance .
all runners have trackers so you can follow it all on the hardmoors website.
shelli has approx 45 miles to go and is on for a course PB (32 hours?).
she is nails. no pics.

Cheers magic, road shoes then, unless it lashes down in the next day or two.
