Having a spot of trouble and was wondering if anyone could help.

I recently got a new PC and hoped to use my Xbox 360 controller. I have managed to get hold of one of these wireless adapters but cannot for the life of me get it working. I plugged in to the USB at which point it downloaded all of the drivers. The instructions I got then told me to press the button on it and turn on my controller and it would pair automatically. My controller is just flashing away and won't pick it up. Anyone have any ideas?

If you want wired you need a wired controller. Wont work with wireless controller and a cable as it just charges the controller mate.

An alternative is a wireless usb receiver. That will work with your wireless controller and the added benefit of being wireless -

Oh I apologise! I thought for some reason you were using a charging cable! Teach me to read posts properly next time.

Try another usb port, press the little pairing button, check the driver installed correctly in device manager and also reboot the pc.

I had the same problem when using a 64-bit version of Windows, the following fixed it:

sorry for the late reply guys. thanks for the help - all sorted now though. Managed to get it up and running after repeatedly pressing random buttons!!

One niggle I have with mine is that it always shows up as an unknown device when I plug it in. It only takes a minute to select the driver in the control panel but it's am irritation.
