Before Hull's win over Palace, Bruce was saying that two wins would be enough to keep them up. So he was obviously targeting that game and Burnley. Chris Ramsey, QPR's boss, reckons they need two wins and a draw to be safe. That would leave them on 34 points. And if Hull win one more then they'll be on 34 points too. So both teams are looking at 34 points as the target.
It's got me thinking about Advocaat's post-match quotes where he said we still need 6 more points. It's interesting that we're setting a higher target than both of these teams. Personally, I think 34 points might not be enough, certainly not for us because of our goal difference. And that's very worrying.
I reckon QPR are down, they're just not going to get 7 points. But if Hull fail to reach 34 points then I think we have a decent chance of staying up. The more I think about things, the more I feel like we are fucked. But if 34 points is what we need to beat then I think we have a fighting chance.
Ramsey has to be optimistic because QPR look so likely to go down. Bruce, on the other hand, is pretty pessimistic, expecting his team only to get one more win. I'd love for us to send Bruce packing all the way back to the championship.
