4 goals and 6 assists this season in 31 games while we blew a fortune on his dud of a replacement.
the handling of the whole situation with his contract sums up just how badly run we are at the top.
If we had Colback here we'd still be in trouble. Colback is not as good as Larsson or Cattermole. The problem has been not replacing Ki. Colback played for us and we struggled. Colback plays for Newcastle - is their main playmaker and they struggle - do the maths on that.

Larrsson takes all ours yet doesn't have as many goals or as many assists.

Nonetheless Colback is nothing more than an average player. He does the bits and pieces. He's OK. I'd have kept him as he's reliable but we haven't missed him. Also, when the pressure is on Colback goes missing. I remember when MON was here they were talking about his need to be more self confident and that his problem.

Where has the rumour come that he wasn't offered a deal? Both he and Larsson agreed to wait until the end of the season he then fucked of to Newcastle for more money immediately regretted it and tried to weasel his way to West Ham. Too many Colback-sympathisers on here...
translates to the club put contract talks on hold till our league future was certain.

for me he would easily be ahead of gomez, rodwell and bridcutt.
Dont disagree but we have struggled as a team both with him and without him. Newcastle have struggled with him as their main play maker. He does not do enough to change a team - he's no more than a decent squad player.

I'm not saying colback a superstar but we lost a 5 mill asset for free, replaced him with worse and he would currently walk into our side.
Not one positive has come from him leaving.

Colback would not have been a guaranteed starter for us this season but he probably would be getting a start now given our injuries and suspensions.

How he has played nearly every game for the mags has surprised me but perhaps them losing 7 games out of 8 gives us a clue as to why.

Give him his due he has played well in some games but he has shown more passion for them than he ever showed for us.

Yes, I agree with that totally. However, if we had kept him we'd still be struggling and if we want to be a top 8 team we would need better players than him - and there's no doubt there'd be plenty on here screaming that. He's a decent lower half premier player and for that we should have got £5M for him.

Bang average at best. Manages to hoodwink idiots who easily confuse ability with work-rate. Gets a free pass because he was born in the right city. Hides when the chips are down and was only signed because he was on a free.

His rivals would be Gomez, bridcutt and Rodwell.
I'd also have him over catts and seb as well however there's not a lot in those comparisons to worry about really.

3 goals and 2 assists in 28 games for us last season, 30 games 0 goals and 0 assists the season before aye he's a huge loss
