Love country living up on the moors. Nearest shop 10 miles. Nearest Fuel 13 miles. Nice cottage by the river with nearest neighbour 500 yards away. Surrounded by views from every window of the North Pennine Hills. My free range hens and ducks love the life too...never mind the dog.
Great community where people watch out for each other.
What's not to like.
Internet speed is.....

I love it. Only a few miles out of town but we've got farmland all around us. Has it's downsides like not just being able to walk to shops/pubs, no gas mains and shite Internet; however having a massive garden, no worries about neighbours, scenery etc outweigh the cons.

My internet peaks at 150kb/s when I'm downloading
180kb/s and only a 2 mile walk to the pub for me.....in your face Red N White Baron
I thought mine was bad at 1.4mb/s, apparently getting over 20mb/s as of June though.

I'd love it me like.

One day I'll buy an isolated retreat in Northumberland. Stunning part of the world, right on our doorstep.

Can just imagine on 'Escape to the country'.
'How's the house'..?

'Love it but what time does the petrol station shut in the village'..?

'8 o clock'.

'That's no good, stick it up ya arse'.

The dreamers on there never buy owt anyway

One couple wanted to move to the Black Isle north of Inverness but ended up buying a flat in Glasgow:)

Don't mind living in the countryside, mind you there are times it does feel like a scene from Deliverance!

Nature is a wonderful thing... Being woken as the sun rises by wood pigeons, hens, cows and sheep - nature's alarm clock

And that lovely spring fragrance of when the local farmer decides to do some muck spreading on the fields.

I lived in the middle of nowhere for just over a year and it was class only 20 odd houses in the village, no shop, no pub and a couple of miles from any other villages. Once the kid had grown up and fucked off I'll move back to somewhere like that.
I wonder why that doesn't bother you?

Urban living for me. I like going to places and doing things.

I also don't hate other people.
When you move to the country is that it like? You cant ever leave? ;)

Where you live mate ?

I enjoyed my time in the sticks, it's amazing how you grow accustomed to the slow pace of life. I've just returned from a short break in Manchester, my abiding memory of which will be the terror experienced whilst attempting to cross roads. Trams and cars coming at you every direction can be quite scary.

But if you lived way out in the sticks, it'd be too much hassle going to the match. Sounds like a winner to me!

Knew there was a plus side ;)

Winters a good excuse as well, when we did used to get regular bad winters, being cut off, buses not running and that reluctant no other option but to ring into work to say unable to get there is a nice feeling.
