The Bridge Lad

This will get lost in the relegation related threads, but Barrow won the Conference North title today so will be playing in the Conference Premier next season.
As a Northumberland lad, it is nice to see teams in the 'next county' do well and they always used to be in bold in the Sunday Sun (hardly ever get that paper now mind). I was gonna say it will be local enough game for Gateshead next season after Hartlepool, Carlisle and York stayed up, but despite it being their closest fixture, there are 130 miles away between the towns . Also just noticed that Barrow is actually lower on the map than Scarborough - didn't realise how far south Cumbria actually stretched.
As for the day, they needed to win at Lowestoft who have a superb home record and were unbeaten in 13 league games going into this. Barrow raced into a 3-0 lead just after half time, but were pegged back to 3-2 and according to my Twitter feeds, hanging on massively at the end. They get big crowds at Holker Street as well and took a fair few down to Suffolk with them today.
Not that relevant or close to Sunderland, but it is nice to see northern clubs do well
