Search for planets if you have not got the schematics of that bit of space you are flying through.

And if you wanna fuel up from stars then just buy a fuel scoop.

Mind ive ran out of fuel once myself and had to self destruct to get back to civilisation (you do know you can do this right without restarting?)
No, I didn't know the bit about self destructing. I've been starting again each time I get twatted with 1000 credits.

I've been using that tip and it's working fine.

My latest gripe is that I entered a hub on the correct (green) side and some stupid twat came out the same side and smashed right into me. By the time I righted myself and entered the dock the f***ing station opened fire on me for loitering! I was inside the dock!!!

This is flawed!

Been reading about this game;

"The game will be expanded with ambitious features such as seamless freeform (manual pitch/yaw/roll)atmospheric flight and landings and on-foot and out-of-ship activities (such as FPS combat, walking around and boarding ships, walking in stations and walking and driving vehicles on entire 1:1 scale populated living planets), multi-player crew and player executive controlled capital ships."

Copied from the wiki. It just sounds incredible. I've been tempted to go back to PC gaming instead of upgrading from the 360 to a Xbox One. This game alone might just tip the balance.

Been playing since Beta and love it. Got it running on my laptop and it ticks along pretty well with the detail nudged down, but it's convinced me to build a basic gaming PC :D

If you find your getting twatted at the same station, you can log in solo mode and avoid the human players for a bit tilll you get used to it, then jump back in to open play. Handy if you want to do a few trade runs with a hold full of rares and want to minimise getting blown to bits.

Oh and if you ever want to kill an hour or so, go visit Hutton Orbital in Alpha Centuri

I'm starting to enjoy this now! I built up over 200,000 credits and swapped my Sidewinder for an Eagle and upgraded the power plant to enable 2 beam laser turrets and a gimballed multi-cannon. Added a kill bounty scanner and job's a good un.

still think star citizen is gonna be better mind.

For those of us who grew up with the original Elite this looks absolutely fantastic! I'm downloading it come payday and then I may save a few pennies for the Rift DK2 (apparently you only have to tick a little box on the website saying its for game development purposes and it's yours for £230.)

Why did you have to do that!

Got a Cobra now and 3M credits. Unfortunately the Feds have taken an intense dislike to me. Any ideas on how to get them off my back?

and there is flip in a nutshell ;)
 I'm right about head tracking.

You've taken the second comment out of context as I am now more interested as they are bringing planet landing/exploration which will make it a vastly different game. Should have these features by the time the console versions are out, maybe.

I played the original back in 1981 and at the time it was by far the best game out and technically years ahead of the competition.
There has been a dozen or so clones over the years and this new Elite Dangerous is nothing new, but updated and better graphics graphics.
