I'd be tempted to get a dream cast
I've got one in the loft, only problem with them now is the memory is powered by watch size batteries (loads of them). So you'll have to replace them before you can save games.I'm on the lookout for a Sega Saturn, already been picking up a few games here and there.
Never had one so thought I might as well give one a go
You can get a memory cartridge instead of using internal memory. And I thought it was only one or two batteries, not loads.I've got one in the loft, only problem with them now is the memory is powered by watch size batteries (loads of them). So you'll have to replace them before you can save games.
For a real retro emulated treat, get yourself a JXD s7800b.

I birthday-ed one to myself two weeks ago and my erection has yet to subside. Snes, Nes, Megadrive, Speccy, Amiga, GBA, DS, PS1 and (some) PSP stuff too. Plus its also an android tablet with all the usual bells n whistles.

Judging by the pictures on this site, it looks like it does have hdmi out. http://www.funstock.co.uk/jxd-s7800b-android-gaming-tabletCan that plug into the tele through HDMI? So if i put KODI on it for instance then watch stuff through it?
Looks like a canny bit of kit.

How's the N64 emulation? That's what I fancy it for.It does indeed have an hdmi out (its a mini or a micro, not full hdmi socket so you'll need a specific cable). I've only used it a tiny bit to test it out via HDMI and while it was fine for stuff like SNES, GBA & DS there was an increased drain on the processor for Amiga and PSP emulation, so I wouldn't reccommend it for those emulators. As for using it to play movies via KODI or Showbox etc I haven't tried it (yet).
As for the ease of getting emulators, you can buy them via the play store or acquire them via the usual methods. The JXD also comes shipped with an App called Happy Chick that is a one stop online-ish multi emulator. Its a frontend for a lot of popular systems and allows you to browse and download roms (in a non-legit fashion). Its great if you're a casual player or layman who's after some hassle free play of a few major titles. However, if you're serious about your retro then be prepare to have to source your own emulators and do some fiddling to get everything working together.
I can't reccommend the device for someone who's prepared to put the time in.
Thanks for that mate... Very helpful.http://www.retrogarden.co.uk/features/how-to-replace-the-battery-on-a-sega-saturn/
Looks like it's only battery by that, cheap battery too.
