Fancy getting an old console, which one should I get? Thinking of a SNES. Just want to play some old classics, any sites that sell them?

Got a few & have to say that even though i was into mega drive back in the day, i get most enjoyment out of my snes

Mainly mario kart, starfox, sensible soccer & the usual mario games

I bought a SNES from a local cash convertors a while back for about £15. Got a load of games for £2 each. Love it!

I'm on the lookout for a Sega Saturn, already been picking up a few games here and there.
Never had one so thought I might as well give one a go

I've got one in the loft, only problem with them now is the memory is powered by watch size batteries (loads of them). So you'll have to replace them before you can save games.

You can get a memory cartridge instead of using internal memory. And I thought it was only one or two batteries, not loads.

For a real retro emulated treat, get yourself a JXD s7800b.

I birthday-ed one to myself two weeks ago and my erection has yet to subside. Snes, Nes, Megadrive, Speccy, Amiga, GBA, DS, PS1 and (some) PSP stuff too. Plus its also an android tablet with all the usual bells n whistles.

Can that plug into the tele through HDMI? So if i put KODI on it for instance then watch stuff through it?

Looks like a canny bit of kit.

Judging by the pictures on this site, it looks like it does have hdmi out. http://www.funstock.co.uk/jxd-s7800b-android-gaming-tablet

Looks class, am getting one

It does indeed have an hdmi out (its a mini or a micro, not full hdmi socket so you'll need a specific cable). I've only used it a tiny bit to test it out via HDMI and while it was fine for stuff like SNES, GBA & DS there was an increased drain on the processor for Amiga and PSP emulation, so I wouldn't reccommend it for those emulators. As for using it to play movies via KODI or Showbox etc I haven't tried it (yet).

As for the ease of getting emulators, you can buy them via the play store or acquire them via the usual methods. The JXD also comes shipped with an App called Happy Chick that is a one stop online-ish multi emulator. Its a frontend for a lot of popular systems and allows you to browse and download roms (in a non-legit fashion). Its great if you're a casual player or layman who's after some hassle free play of a few major titles. However, if you're serious about your retro then be prepare to have to source your own emulators and do some fiddling to get everything working together.

I can't reccommend the device for someone who's prepared to put the time in.

How's the N64 emulation? That's what I fancy it for.
