Is Anyone Dreading the Derby?

It's going to be my first trip to the SOL since the last home derby when Borini scored late on, so I'm absolutely buzzing for it.

Looking forward to the Derry and Sinatras only slightly less.

I'm looking forward to it, when we were totally shite I was worried that Carlos Edwards might not be fit, we have much better players now, let's hope we have the new manager bounce, we have the players to get the result, they have proved it at least

There are four ST holders in our house. Two say they are dreading the derby and are to be heard saying "It's the worst match of the season" and "I hate it" while asking on a regular basis whether I think we can/will possibly win. Reasons for this seem to vary from day to day but include banter with Mags turning acrimonious, and lack of sleep due to worry.

Are they alone? I can't wait for Sunday, myself...
It's the fear of losing that brings on the dread. Winning is ecstasy, losing is agony.

I know loads of people on both sides who dread it and would take a draw every time! I can understand why anarl.

I fear at the moment as what with our run and a lot of confidence bordering on (mag-like) arrogance by some of our lot, the old smack in the face is never far away.

Got to look forward to Derby day Man !! Its Gona be a long next 5 days tho

Nope. Ever since the 5-1 I havent gave a shit. Which has been class, cos when others are shitting themselves Im standing there just enjoying it. I wasnt even arsed when they were piling on the pressure in the last minute in Decememer (and it turned out i was correct in not being )

same here. when we beat them 2-1 under keane, i could hardly breathe during stoppage time and felt like i was going to have a heart attack. since the 5-1, nothing has got to me

Usually dread the derbies, however this time I don't feel much as yet (that will change Saturday night like!). Think it may be in due to this season being a bit of a kick in the teeth and the lads sapping any pleasure I get out of football.

Exactly this for me as well.

I'm normally quite lackadaisical about derbies after the 5-1, but there's too much riding on this one. I'm not really thinking about it because I have loads of shite to deal with before the weekend, but once Saturday and Sunday hit I'll be on pins.

mags read this so well done ,,,,4 in a row we have won all on bad form ,,,the mags are a bigger race ,,, the mags have harder fists ,, the mags havent beat us in years ,,, the mags are a top of the league team on form ,,,the mags have jack we have jill ,,,,,the mags will have 45000 in our ground ,,,5 1 was years ago but you still yak on about it ,,,, not much said about us winning 4 in a row ,,,,

I'm confident we'll beat them. They seem to have no heart for these games anymore and Charver is there manager.

If Catts can boss them about, we'll win, but it ain't going to be pretty!!

Hate the few days before tbh. Was worse when I was over home but still don't enjoy the build up. Usually settle in gradually on the day few pints help calm the nerves I think

I never look forward to them. Normally I would take a draw and be done with them, but we need to win really on Sunday. That worries me, as we are terrible in those situations.

Roll on Sunday. This is like being the last in the queue at the dentist.:)

Hate them and would normally say that I would gladly take a 0-0 draw in every derby for ever more. This one is a must win for us, though, which just makes it worse. Dreading it.
