Planks

Used to get lower back strains from certain exercises (usually leg press) but since incorporating planks in to my abb routine I've never even felt a twinge.
 


Used to have competitions to see who could hold the plank the longest. I have a friend who passed out after holding the position for forty-five minutes and had to be resuscitated.
 
why do people cripple their backs doing sit-ups when a few sets of these bad boys will absolutely butcher your stomach. Love them me.
Talk me through how/what to do coz i dont think iv seen them done before. Points of your toes,laying on your forearms, straight as possible?

At work and youtube wont fcking work for me.
 
Planks are totally evil, I think my core is made of jelly. I don't like doing them at the gym because I look like a tit and I prefer to do stuff requiring equipment while I'm there, so instead I hold the position while the bath runs (my shower's fucked so I have to have a bath each morning). It passes the time but means I start off the day very sweary. :lol: Trying to add an extra 5 seconds each day, but I always get to 3mins something then lose interest for a week or so and end up starting low again. :oops:

I do them with my forearms on a Swiss ball. Harder to balance so strengthens the core quicker. Start kneeing the ball for extra sexyness.
 
up to 2 mins 45, the last minute is hell.
i'm sure being tall doesn't help. i'm sure someone with a short trunk has it easy.
