Running Thread 2015

No mate , it's a DIY route, comes to 0.84 of a mile on my app, bout 1300m, 3-4min Breather then go again . as say , wanted to do 6 and bit sick had to bail out early.
How many 1k intervals do you do mate in a session, and how often?
Usually do 9x1k, prob once a month. Try my best to mix it up, though I don't enjoy the sprint stuff. This week I did 3x3k Tuesday and yesterday did 10x400, 8x300, 6x200 (hated that one :)).

I've only just found the strength to do 9x1k though, takes a while to build up. My first go at 1k was to do 6 as well

ive been toying with the idea of a club for ages, but I just cannot guarantee I could make it at the times the strollers train and that sort of defeats the oject of being in the club, if I join I want to be ale to train as often as possible, im trying to push the other half to join and then if we can get one of the gran parents to watch the bairns I know I would make it, I did 13.1 yesterday nice and steady away in 143 which is a bit slower than usual but like I have said on previous posts I still feel a little off from my death cold, did 5.5 today just so the legs don't tighten up, 1 more over the weekend and then a day our 2 rest before I try to start following a plan again
They train Tuesday and Thursday night too, for people who can do sub 90 half marathons, sub 40 10km

Why? I only turn up once a week, and do my own thing on other nights but I have learnt a lot on sessions from the club while also more aware of races and meetings being held. If you like running, join up.

Did the North Tyneside 10k route and back yesterday. Seemed to be a lot of dog shi7e on the pavements, especially in the first half.

Done a big loop round this morning locally that totaled 8.3 miles in a time of 1hr 15m. Its a killer bank entering back into horden from Blackhall but once I got to the top felt like I could have went on easily for another 2-3 miles if I wanted

I can see is signing up for Sunderland hm by end of week

Its a strange one. The hill at tynemouth priory is a biggun and the kicker at the end of the shields prom is worse at about 45'. From tynemouth it rolls with lots of ups and downs but it does feel more down hill.
Despite all this, I would still call it a fast route.

The North tyneside 10k sold out a week or 2 ago as I was gonna try for it . Blyth 10k is the week after so that's a possibility for me , no idea how that compares to n.tyneside 10k as I've done neither

Blyth's a flat fast one fletch, an out and back route. Was windy last year but at least it was on your back for half the race

Exactly as magic rat says. Blyth is almost pan flat. Goes out from the harbour and along the dunes path (hard gravel path) to sluice then back along the roadside pavement to blyth. The wind could be an issue, but only one way...

class run by you today mate, you must be proud... by the way the rules have changed for pier to pier - first SMBer back gets the pints in

Managed to haul myself round 18 miles today but not easy after far too many beers last night.

Was struggling from the first mile but glad I did it. Ribs are still causing bother and shoulder too now. Stupid falling over.

It's advertised as a PB route so should be quick. Been told there's a hill in it somewhere. I'm doing it for first time next week and hoping to PB too.

Finished third in the Northumberland half at kirkley hall this morning in 77.20. Chuffed with that. Hope to go a bit quicker at Edinburgh in May
Fast downhill, then big up hill leading to tynemouth priory then flat after.

Did 5k flat out tonight. Managed it in 24.01 which I was pretty pleased with given I'm not yet at the peak of my powers since the layoff with the knee. The wind was brutal at times although I suppose it helped me at times as well.

Great little 5 mile session with the running club tonight in tough conditions. Dropping some extra efforts in between lamp posts has really taken it out my legs.

Times like tonight really pays running with the club. After a 12 hour shift chance nor have bothered if going out by myself but with a it being a club night you make the effort to go and end up with a good session with some good people under your belt
