We weren't allowed down to gulfoss, too dangerous so only had the top down view. The frozen river and small falls was uridafoss, if I spelt it correctly, ran out into the black beach. Absolutely freezing there -6 plus 30mph wind chill. The snots up my nose froze!

Beer is available in pubs, restaurants and hotels. Didn't see any in shops - apparently the government own the off licences so I was told. Paid £6.20 for a half of cobra in an indian restaurant! Cans at our hotel were about a fiver each. Beer aint cheap up there!! Beware the drink driving laws though zero tolerance and very hefty speeding fines of $400.
You can buy duty free at Keflavik when you land, could be a good idea to buy some straight away.

Fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh and load up with malt before you board
