Nah , that's about the norm from what I've seen , it's a good race mate, bit different, get entered , its worth it for the topless cheerleaders on roker beach alone

Plus the money goes back into the organizing club and provides them with financial support over the year.

Personally I am much more comfortable paying for races like the pier to pier, knowing it will be reinvested in a local running club, then paying £52 to Great Run and further swelling Brendan Fosters pension fund.

Great stuff. You'll do great. Would have been cheaper if you signed up to the strollers!
True but I would have the missus bendin my ear all the time ... You should ask the other harrier groups of they can all tweet it or facebook it

Last SMBer back gets the beers in ?

I've only done it once and it's pretty different to any other race . One thing that gets me.... When you come off shields beach up onto the grass there seems to be 3-4 alternative routes you could take- which is the quickest ?!!!

I always favoured going right then straight across the middle of the grass, but last year the council had let the greenery grow too high so it ended up further than the left cliff edge track. Probably why some naughty buggas went on the pavement !!!

Is the pavement frowned upon? I was planning to take in as much Tarmac as possible en route :)
