Punishes it off the back foot and clearly has an "eye". But everything I see of him suggests his technique is awful.
How the fuck has no one worked him out yet?

He's having a golden spell but like everyone he'll have a blip at some point.Punishes it off the back foot and clearly has an "eye". But everything I see of him suggests his technique is awful.

Ian Bellgive over man, technique? its only what works for you
You would make a good coach at the ECB with that theory.
Ian Bell
International 50 over opener. Strike rate 65.
I have your proponent
You argue for the sake of itWhat?
You argue for the sake of it
You argued Bell played well against Scotland. He patted back the slowest spinner in history. In a world cup where 350 is par
Smith has a great record. A sublime record. Technically he is crap and I do think a decent bowling attack, in the longer form especially, should be working him out
argue for the sake of it? Smith is just about the best batsmen in the world at the minute like, technique means fuck all, and it is a typical English attitude this "bad technique". A good technique is whatever gets you runs
look at Graeme Smith's technique, absolutely awful, but he was a hell of a player, and never "found out"
Don't agree with you at all, especially this "found out"
People said Cook has been "found out", aye after 8500 test runs and 25 100s!!
every player has weaknesses, look at Kholi in england last summer, still a good player like, everyone has different styles
in england we focus on playing too much the right way, Bell for example, not everyone can play that way, and they shouldn't be coached as such
I totally agree with @smoker and its not every often I can say that.
What the fuck has Ian Bell's ODI knock against Scotland got to do with it, clutching at straws there marra
Just to restore the status quo, I totally disagree about Cook. He has been 'found out' - he has a weakness to the angled delivery and full straight delivery on the pads and, until such a point as he fixes them, he is a walking wicket. Amazing that, 2 years on from the 2013 Ashes when this was first systematiucally exposed, he is still getting out the same way! He really needs a better batting coach.
Kohli, in complete contrast, too steps to remedy his vulnerability to the late away swinger - ie took guard a foot further forward, in Australia - and hey presto he averages 100+. Yes, the ball moves less over there, but Australia still had some tidy lads who can generate conventional and reverse swing under the right conditions. I expect him to fill his boots, next time he is in England.
I just don't agree, you can't get "found out" after 8000 test runs and 25 centuries. Bit late by then isn't it.
He has always had this flaw, his whole career, bowlers have always tried to bowl there, he is just bang out of form, maybe its 10 years in international cricket or the captaincy.
I don't expect him to fill his boats in England Kholi by the way, I watched every ball of that series, and they were the flattest pitches I have ever seen, as had many of the commentators. Look at the amount of runs scored in that series by both teams, and the amount of wickets taken, says alot about that series. Hardly the bench mark
We are never gonna agree on that, so best off just leaving it there probably.
Not disputng his good past record. But you cant live on former glories...just look at Gambhir last summer! The fact remains Chef can be got out far too easily now, and his ability as a captain does not compensate sufficiently for this. He is fortunate to have hit poor form (if you want to call it that) at a time when there are few outstanding rival candidates for captain, lets face it Lyth, Lees, Carberry and Compton could probably do a better job with the bat.
Aye we will probably never agree in this but I have the last word now so ner.
Don't want to sound like a relic but it's partly down to how largely crap modern bowlers are.
His technique is gash, werent England getting him out at will a year or two ago?!

They got blown away, they only have two top class batsmen (KW & BM) and one of them (KW) has been badly out of form this tournament
If modern bowlers are so shit, what happened to NZ there?
