I found this to be the case up to about level 28 then the randoms tend to know the score and do what needs doing.

I was doing the level 24 weekly heroic strike on my sons account last week, and the other two plebs kept running around dying in the stupidest places.

They genuinely didn't learn and because of that the strike took 90 minutes. I did the highest level strike with randoms later that night and it was done in 20 minutes with like minded experienced players.

Was doing the Weekly Devil's Lair Strike.. And it was just full of idiots, didn't enjoy it one bit because the other 2 were just so bad, I've never done a Weekly but I figured out straight away and all it takes is a bit of common sense, so I just played a different game entirely like.

Just don't ask @andy all you'll get is either heavy breathing, munching on crackers and cheese or do we get a weapon drop at the next checkpoint.

knob off.only reason you don't do your usual rage quit is you are relying on other people for your drops
