apart for a spell if a couple minutes we were f***ing dire.

The first half was the worst i've seen us play since the second half at Southampton. They keep shocking me in their sheer level of shiteness.

The annoying thing is, they're just as bad. When we had a slight go and pushed them up a little bit- we score and look like we could nick it.

This. They are f***ing shite too.

It was a scrappy point. A point we need. Of course a win would be golden but as we have seen over the season we lack the confidence and ability to consistently win games. I think coming off the back of an away game at utd, the johnson situation and the red card a point was earned. Lots of negativity at the club and I can see where Gus is coming from in praising the staff, fans and efforts of the players. He is trying to build morale and confidence. Yes his tactics and antics can be poorly portrayed at times and I have even vented some anger in his direction. But he hasn't given up and the players haven't given up. At least that is what I'm taking from it. Unfortunately this team just isn't good enough or consistent enough at the moment to take games like these by the scruff. Also we all know Ricky is coming back from injury so why is everyone upset he didn't play a full 90? Maybe he only had a desperate substitute apperance in him and luckily he came through. Great bit of skill and run for the goal.

I honestly don't believe that poyet was thrilled with the performance but he can't exactly slag the team off in the media at every given chance. He will lose the team. Be interesting to see how the next 4 games unfold. I'm hoping for the best obviously.

Also I've brought this point up before and maybe its just because we are short everywhere on the field but would it not be worth putting seb back on the right wing when we are lacking cover instead of playing him in the middle? It was his natural position and played for Sweden there too. He's not the fastest or a dribble magician by any means, but if he gets a yard or two of space he can definitely whip a ball in. Considering 3 of our 4 forwards are built like target men wouldn't this help our chances of scoring a little more? At least in a bind like this I think its worth exploring.

I'm trying hard to be pragmatic, but the 'seeing it differently from high in the stands' bit is worrying. He saw what we've all seen for ages, there hasn't been any width. I know the view from the touchline prohibits any depth of field, but surely he watches videos of the game or something afterwards. Maybe he finally saw the futility of passing along the back, that possession for possession's sake is worthless and started wondering why we're not taking advantage of a bit of space down the left.

I remember seeing managers spending the first 20 minutes or so sitting up with the directors, watching how the game is developing from that viewpoint, then rushing downstairs to the dugout to adapt the tactics accordingly. Maybe he should be doing that.

If hed got sent off earlier we might have won!

He can build confidence by saying things like, "we couldn't cope with their energy initially and it took us a while to get in the game. But when we did start to play I felt we could have won the game. Credit to the players from coming back from such a poor start". Not "we played well, the players knew how important the game was and played accordingly"

If he had gone open early on we could have been 3-0 down. Flooding the midfield failed but least he had a plan B. Everyone was slagging PVA off last month now he is a saviour. Some are making their minds up to suit their anti Gus agenda.

Brilliant.

So we go to Hull, who are absolutely woeful and flood the midfield. Yet we ended up playing absolutely dreadful during that time and ended up throwing a left back on as a winger. That's not plan B, it's desperation.

Get your head out of the sand. The bloke hasnt a clue what he's doing.

1 win in 11 against heavyweights such as QPR, Hull, WBA and Burnley.

We all know his English haha. I suppose you're right but at the end of the day I'm concerned with the points earned then what he tells the media. I'm not happy with the play just like everyone else but this season is a write off and we need to stay up. If we had 10% posession and 3 shots a game but somehow manage to stay up I don't care. Obviously we all want a better brand of football but his words are just words at the minute. As long as he doesn't lose the players and the players don't lose him and we stay up that's all I want. Whatever happens in the post season is what will happen but until then whether you like poyet or not that was a needed point. We need more 3's but we aren't world beaters by any means so I'll take the point at hull. We have to make the home games count. Easier said then done as we always make it hard but momentum and the positives for the final stretch has to be taken from any and all situations. I'm not defending him by any means anymore but I can see a little bit with what's he is trying to do media wise
