Disagree completely, lad hasn't been charged and will be in hell. Mud sticks and he'll be slaughtered for the rest of his professional career.
For all we know it could be made up bollocks.
If he is found guilty and we still sing songs in support of him then those singing will be massively in the wrong
So how will you feel then if it turns out he is indeed guilty?
This applies to all criminals who have yet to be convicted though.
IMO, neither support nor condemnation should be applied in this case as the full details remain unknown.
Must be class to not be charged in this country yet not supported
He won't be tho, and playing devils advocate I wdnt be too ashamed about singing for one of our own before hes even been charged.
It's class to live in a country that has a judicial system that will prove right from wrong.
It would be class if people could just sit quiet for 2 weeks and let people do their jobs to prove an accused man innocent or guilty without idiots having to choose sides because they support a football team.

ThisI absolutely hope that isn't the case, I hope he's innocent, but I won't say anything in support of him until I know for sure.
There is absolutely no way of knowing that. I'm sure there were many who believed the yewtree accusations to be false and that the people involved wouldn't be found guilty.

I was there and I chanted, innocent until proven guilty

Or even charged mindUm, no. It just means it hasn't been proven guilty or innocent yet.
So long as the chanting was tasteful, then there is nothing wrong with showing support. That being said, I think its naive to show support for someone accused of crimes that he has been whilst not knowing the facts.
This is the right thing to do. To protect the player and club from adverse publicity. You need to wind your neck in. Until a jury passes a guilty verdict on the lad he is NOT guilty. Well done to the fans who showed their support tonight.I think most have forgotten he has been suspended ffs
TitIt was embarrassing as fuck
Why wouldn't we support him. He is our player. A Sunderland fan. He isn't guilty of anything yet. Until and if he is found guilty then we will and should support him.
