What's the difference like?

Orals (generally speaking here) are liver toxic, fuck up blood lipids etc much more and long term are less effective. They give results quicker than say test enth which is why they're used to give a kick at the end of prep for powerlifting meets

Aye this.

I'm reading Tyler Hamiltons book atm about doping in cycling during the Armstrong era, you can probably apply the same logic to most sports at the top level, abit the drugs of choice will change slightly for whatever sport you choose.

Will get the full quote from the bloke like but was to that effect.

The incentive to 'cheat' is just too high for people not to. But even 'back in the day' where it was all about taking part, people where still almost killing themselves taking strange concoctions to improve performance. Athletes have always looked for the edge.

I'm not necessarily for allowing doping in sports (it's there regardless) but there's quite compelling arguments as to why they should be allowed with a greater emphasis then on monitoring athlete health, as all drug testing really does is risk health further

Any updates @heskey to success? And for the record, if you're benching 50 a side, that's 120kg and a decent enough lift. Lots of 'big' lads at my gym struggle to get past the 100.

I'm always skeptical of people's numbers though given a 'bench press' is often either nowhere near touching the chest or crashes to the chest before the spotter gives it the whole 'all you'

Oh and 'ATG' squats that are barely parallel

Cant stand seeing that where they lower it to around 3-4 inches above their chest then raise again... this HAS to take away at least 25% of the effort required doesn't it?

This is why I focus 100% on having perfect form for 90% of my reps and only let it go slightly on the last one if I'm struggling..

Benching 3x10 at 60kg with perfect form is better than benching 3x10 at 80kg with bad form wouldn't you agree?

This the bar touching your chest rule. I have terrible shoulders, prob from years of shit form. So I read somewhere that putting a folded towel on your chest will give you a bit space and help with the shoulder pain, which I have been doing.
Am I wasting my time?

Probably not. It's just the equivalent of wearing a thicker top. It reduces the range of motion minimally. We're talking about real half-reppers here.

You could also try a football bar? Titus uses them for different reasons but they were invented for American Football players who often have various shoulder issues preventing them from benching normally. No idea what sort of gym you train at but good independents will often accommodate needs like that if you put forward a good reason.

I get the bar down to about 2" off my chest, before pressing it back up. My shoulders seem to be a bit better this way, rather than going all the way down
I train at elite in southwick when not at work

I go to Elite now and then, right clart on their bench press imo. Its the hooks the bar go on, its like playing that board game operation

Aye the bench is a bit shit like
They could use another bench setup, and another squat rack like
