Form against decent Australian bowlers is better than form against decent other bowlers?

Er no.

Someone said the big bash was just Dad's army. It does have a few older players but Brett Lee and Brad Hogg are still a better standard than the vast majority of our county players where other people on the fringes would have to prove themselves worthy.

They are 38ish. That doesn't mean he is in good enough form to play Starc and Boult

No English player on the fringe of the team plays against Starc, Boult or Johnson.

James Taylor is doing OK at international level after getting a chance due to good form in domestic cricket. Who did Jason Roy prove himself against last season? Did nowt in the big bash but pummelled our county plodders. I would have him in the 20 / 20 team based on form but he's not proven at the highest level.

You do well at a lower level and get the chance to prove yourself against the best. KP has proved himself against the best in the past then couldn't get a run. His big bash form, a standard better than our county cricket IMO was as good as anyone in the competition. That indicates to me he's returned to something like his old form.

He does need to play 4 day cricket to be considered for the test side but why can't we pick him for ODI's and T20 whilst he is proving himself in domestic tournaments like the Big Bash?

Personally I would love him back in the side.

The standard of the big bash is not better than the standard of England's 20/20 in my opinion, just marketed better

How is the big bash a better standard?? It really really isn't, durhams attack is miles better than anything on offer over there as is Yorkshires

The top performers were Lumb and Carberry, and there were very very few big name international players there

I have no idea what you are basing that on, the standard of big bash cricket isn't better, simply isn't

The biggest names in it were KP and Flintoff!!

How did KP get on in our 20/20 for Surrey?

It's a disgrace that nobody at the ECB seems willing to admit the error that was made. All of these "nice guys" might be skipping around the dressing room together and telling each other that they are best friends, but they aren't good enough to carry KP's bag - the result being one embarrassing defeat after another, after another, after another.

The big bash is better because it's the best of Australia plus others spread over 8 teams rather than 18 teams like our 20 / 20.

KP, Kallis and Fred were the big overseas names and 2 of those are still world class, Fred is past it obviously. Other older players like Lee and Hussey are again still playing to a good standard.

English 20 / 20 is county teams which isn't a great standard.

Now we will see if he is serious.

Looking for a county to play for, and may give up his IPL contract - although I read that as "give me enough money and I will"

Listening to darren gough other day he said only two realistic options and that's surrey or Middlesex and he's not sure either will come off.
All counties in pre season now and KP over in Australia commentating on World Cup.
Gough reckons he should have been netting with a county by now rather than doing his commentary stint if it was going to happen.

I don't think it'll happen - I think Graves knew what he was doing in that he's given KP the ultimatum as it were and KP has seen his arse.

For me most of the stuff from KP since his 'sacking' was merely posturing. I do believe he wants/wanted to play for England again but he wanted to do it on his terms and playing County Championship cricket in April/May wasn't in his terms.

We'll see in due course but I'd be astounded if he returns from Australia and gets straight into the County season.

Coming back surely

Do the Lords kitchens have enough room for all the humble pie?

would love to see it happen but cant see him playing for England again.

As long as Moores, Flower, Anderson and Broad are involved and influential in the England set up, it is going to be very difficult for Pietersen to come back in and integrate.

He should have never been dropped, certainly not for limited overs. He won't play full time for a county but IMO he could score hundreds every other week in county cricket and he still wouldn't get picked.

England are awash with wankers from the top to the bottom off the pitch.
