Love New Zealand's aggressive approach. End of the day today was only a who tops the group game but New Zealand are getting some great match practise and learning some valuable lessons too.

They wouldn't have learnt half as much if they'd knocked the runs off in 35 overs with 3 or 4 wickets down.

I love their approach as well, nearly backfired though there.

Agree but it wouldn't have really mattered in the league format. They did something similar against Scotland too but they're getting the blood pumping or having pressure situations every game which can only help long term. They might need to reign themselves in a bit during the knock out phase but I don't think they will. Can't see them being behind the run rate anytime soon :)

Yes you right, but would be interesting to see their approach if chasing 150 in the semi final, think it would be wise to to reign it in slightly ,all about getting the balance right.

Missed the match due to supporting granddaughter competing in Dunedin at South Island Archery Champs.
Got to the pub just as Nz lost Anderson ,then wickets kept tumbling . Talk about squeaky bum time. The relief in the pub and in the ground was amazing when Williamson hit that 6.

Get in New Zealand, pity about the batting collapse, would have loved to see them piss it with 8 wickets spare.

Not really like, threw a few away, but that spell of fast bowling by Starc was memorable, hardly think that was down to Kiwki's aggressive approach

Up until Brendan M got out, that was as one-sided as the England match.

Moeen just said we weren't in a bad position against New Zealnd as we were 100-3 after 25 overs.

f***ing hell man :lol::lol:

We could of a got a total like mate, look at NZ and Australia today, you don't need to be 100 off 10 all the time like

Is there a better sight in world cricket than a defeated Australian?

Probably not, but you have to admire them, called into work last night so watched all of this one.

They were totally gone, but Australia think they can win from any position, always have in my life time, and hell of a fightback by Starc, who looks unplayable.

We obviously lack the talent of these nations currently, but you have to learn from their mentality, we give up too early, even with NZ looked like they would stroll that today, Clarke and Co would of been thinking, a few wickets and they are under pressure. England don't think like that, almost lets try and keep the damage to a minimum.

The Aussies were 76-1 from 12 overs. New Zealand threw the bat to boost NRR again and lost wickets as a result.

The aussies collapsed to 151 all out. We were all out for 123 after being 100-3 after 25 overs which is a far worse position all round.

I should be more in depth actually. It's like the comment was seen as a positive that at the half way stage we had 100 runs and 3 down.

Run rate should really be 5 an over at this level. A below average score these days is 250 we would have had to score a run a ball just to get that, and when our tail seemingly can't bat we had 3 wickets to play with to get to a par/below average score.

The point still stands, if you are 70 for 1 after 12 is irrelevant if you are all out for 151.

We aren't as

No you have a point, but still think people getting carried away, there have been some massive scores, but India have shown how to do it, keeping wickets in hand is the most important think with these new rules.

Look at Australia today, the were absolutely awful really, Boult bowled well but not at the level Starc did.
