I honestly thought you had more sense than that Peachy.

What is it with women & ridiculous diets?
I usually am pretty good and eat a fairly healthy diet. But I have just gone through December and January where too many goodies brought in to work, Christmas food, winter dark nights has led to the putting on of around 7-10lbs. As you get older it seems harder to shift weight put on, I was really good early February but I couldn't budge a single pound. This diet only uses normal food no pre-packaged or processed stuff; mostly stuff I'd eat anyway, just in a different order. It ends Saturday night.

Can you guess what the solution to this is? As in the only, sure fire, permanent solution?

It's only seven days though. Probably on any given (non-dieting) day I might miss out on something, but I'll get it another day.

Get younger?

:p

Change your lifestyle to adapt to the way your body is changing.

It's just frustrating seeing people looking for the 'cheat' option (which is what this is, as the weight loss won't be real) and not accepting the cards they've been dealt (which includes age).

Skinny and want to gain weight but your body has a really high BMR? Sorry, no quick fix, you need to eat more than your average person.

High propensity to gain weight and find it difficult to lose weight? Eat less, exercise more and don't put the weight on to begin with.

Either that or accept it. Stop looking for the silver bullet that just doesn't exist. Because that's silver bullet isn't going to stop you from getting too fat or too thin in another month's time.

Sorry for being a dick and all.

I'm hardly a spring chicken Peachy. Until 2 years ago when the definition changed I was considered middle aged & this time last year I was 1% body fat below being considered obese. I'm now down to 16% body fat without changing my diet basically by getting off my arse & becoming more active again.

I do exercise though. I am on my feet all day. I cycle 20 miles a week. Not a huge distance I know but beats sitting on a bus every day.

I get that really. I know the best way to live is to eat healthily (which I do) and exercise (I'm probably scoring a moderate/above average on that one). I also know that at my age I'm never going to be a perfectly shaped 20 year old again, and that is fine.

I just thought that for one week (holiday in three weeks) that if I tried this diet I might shift a few pounds before I go away. I don't do the crazy diet thing hardly at all usually. But since I've lived on a wide selection of fruit and vegetables (mainly) for a few days I'm not crying too much. No alcolhol for seven days either - which has to be a good thing (just for a week).
