Fantastic bloke, gave me my first ever cricket bat when I was 8 year old. I remember him going into East Rainton clubhouse and giving me an old Slazenger V12 bat similar to the one pictured. The work he put into East Rainton's ground was amazing.

Always thought it was Alwyn. His son Geoff used to play too. He used to live just down the road iirc. I've not played for ERCC for over 30 years and he wasn't exactly young then like.

It has been a sad few months for us as a club, losing Les, Alban and Davy Wilson all in the space of a few months, its been a sad time. But hopefully Rainton are through the worst. RIP to them all.
