Cats fans living in past

Poyet has been here long enough. If the football is shite, it is his fault. Shite and ineffective football is a dangerous mix. He can harp on about not being able to buy his own players.....Buckley and Bridcutt are amongst our worst signings of the past 5 years.....

Van Aanholt and Jones are git defensive like.

no way is he a right wing back mind!!!!!

we are not good enough to play all these fancy formations!
set up 442! and when we come up against teams clearly better than us and they get the ball one of the 2 strikers drops deep and helps out the midfield

Briefly what did he say? The media are excellent at twisting things
‘My message to them is patience. And I am sorry I can’t bring Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips back. I think they (the fans) are still living in the past. You cannot live in the past.

‘On top of that, you have to remember how Peter Reid left the club (sacked in 2002). They forgot very quickly about what Peter achieved, and that is very unfair.’

I think it's a bit insulting to the supporters

Oh yeah I heard those comments I thought this was a new one. The top line is wrong I agree and the bottom line is irrelevant

Seems to me like there's an agenda here. Try and turn SAFC fans against Poyet.

I;d be willing to bet that he wasn't actually negative when speaking to the journalist
You don't need to read this article to be turned against poyet! Just ask the poor season card holders who have seen just one win this season and 3 over the calendar year how well he's doing. Last season is history. It's what his record is this season that he should be judged on. He's brought his own players in during 2 full transfer windows plus this part one and things seem to be getting worse, not better. We all know how this is going to end. The sooner he leaves the better it will be for the club and its supporters.

So we're being blamed for wanting more? I mean playing pass back to the goalkeeper every chance we get is just what I want to watch every Saturday!

Can't beat a sluggish advance forward with no urgency, and also bringing Coates on with 5 minutes to go at Man City instead of putting another striker on.

What about having 7 defensive minded players on the pitch against a team who can't score for toffee in the name of Aston Villa?

I mean I'm getting told not to boo a Liam Bridcutt wayward pass, only happens every 4 out of 5 passes he attempts.

I'm also told that I should stop pining for Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn to return, I mean it's only been 10 years since and hundreds of millions of pounds!

Im told that were skint and have no money, just as a £10m midfielder get needlessy sent off.

Sick of Gus's tactically inept shite every week.

A few weeks ago he said we've always had poor sides, now we're too busy reminiscing about when we had a decent one. He wants to make his f***ing mind up.
Standard Poyet, only person I know who can contradict himself in the same sentence

There's a pattern appearing here.

The Journal and Chronicle (both mag propoganda machines) are desperately trying to heap pressure on Poyet and Sunderland. We already know it is mounting but it's obvious that they have an agenda.

Absolutely.

He's not helping himself with his verbal diarrhea problem though.

He must have seen my clothes and one of those big white fivers that Mackem00 still carries to impress lasses

Have I missed something here!
Why have Quinn and phillips been mentioned?
What we need know is Jardine et al so sad he is right, then we know he is mental.

Kick and Rush my arse. They were an attractive, fast paced team with some very talented players - they played with confidence and used wingers to good effect. The played more creative forward passes in one game than his side have played in a season. He's talking bollocks as usual. I really dislike the way he portrays our fans and the club in the media. I have supported what he's trying to do but I'm pissed off now

He's not a wing back no, but the bugger likes to get forward. We were more direct with him trying getting behind their defence and putting the ball in the box than we were with Buckley.

there full backs - at least half their job is to get back and defend
And yet time and again we're exposed, particularly on the left, because Van Aanholt has been bombing forward.

We need to stop hanging onto the glory days of our 10th placed finish under Bruce

It's all irrelevant and contradictory. If we are living in the past then how have we forgotten what Peter Reid did here?

I think he means that we forgot about Reid's success quickly and the supporters quickly forgot about the good thinks he had done and turned on him when things started to go wrong. Although, as Gus talks in riddles, you never 100% really know what he is trying to say.

He should realise football is a quick moving game (that is not intended as a direct dig at Gus) and that you are only as good as your last game / current season.

Extrapolating his belief that because Reid enjoyed success at the club he should be untouchable, I really hoped he is not as deluded to think that he should have more credit in the Goodwill Bank as he got us to a cup final and is associated with the "miracle" escape.

This season (especially at Home) has been dire and what is more worrying is that I can not see it improving!

Poyet is a deluded moron

What we have to remember is that he is "our deluded moron". Well at least he is for the foreseeable future!
