Grindon Hall school

When my kids were at GHS, it was a fee paying school, one of my kids was in the primary, about the time when the old stables had been converted into classrooms, the school had hired a new young teacher, to say she was thick was an understatement, she didn't have a clue, I'm assuming she had a degree or teaching qualification ( if so I dont know how she got it). So we were left with a child who was stagnating at school while we were paying thousands, it wouldn't have been to bad but he was a very bright kid. It turned out that she was a former pupil and went to the same church, she was employed because of being a bible basher at the same church. The next year the children the class caught up because they had to be taught from an experienced teacher ( who was an excellent teacher) to pull them out of the shit, but half the class left to go to a different school. My child ended up leaving school with 10 separate GCSE'S 2 a*, 4 a's, and 4 b's, god knows what he might achieved at GHS, I assume it would of been nowhere near them grades, but this school seems to have deteriorated since my children left.

Another allegation of nepotism. It's not the first and I believe it won't be the last.

All religious schools should be banned. There is no room in education in this day and age for that nonsense, it's simply unbelievable to me that they are still so common. I was looking at good schools in Sunderland a while ago in case we ever moved back - and all the good ones were religious. No thanks.

I fully agree mate, but I've avoided mentioning it in this case because the report into the actual teaching has been so damning. Plenty to pick the place apart on without starting on their ridiculous beliefs.

This..not a fan of them at all, but my criticisms are around the report and the awful actions of the head

Yep. That's the way it should be, because it'd be too easy to be accused of singling them out due to their faith. Which is the defence their abominable headmaster is desperately hiding behind. Ironically, he's arguing against something which has not been accused.
