Anyone reckon we might see some transfer action....

Unless we sell someone no one else will be coming in.

If we were not so limited on defenders I would suggest sending Coates back to Liverpool and bringing someone effective in.

I agree with this sadly. It's a dilemma for Short - sack Poyet and spend money paying off him and his staff plus find money for new manager and staff - or
Flog Fletcher / Giaccherini and give Poyet the money for a late transfer gamble - or
Close your eyes, leave well alone and hope for a miracle part two

When they opt to play and we are fairly injury free - all that was missing form a top 10 side was a clinical striker. I'm not convinced that has changed. We create and waste good chances in most games that aren't against weaker opposition.

If things go badly on Saturday, we may be allowed to bring in someone like Aaron Hughes on loan from Brighton I suppose.

I might be alone here but I think we've a squad of players who are capable of more than what is currently happening.
A lot more

You're absolutely right. It's the manager who has lost the plot - 9 defensive players at home to a Championship side is beyond ridiculous.

I agree completely as I said on another thread I'm sure an experienced premier league manager could get a lot more out of this squad than Gus is.

Yeah, that's the choices unfortunately.......possibly with the addition of a last seven game gamble on a new man should things be looking very precarious.

Can't see it being option one as it looks very expensive and would undoubtedly invoke a breach of FFP. Wheeler-dealing probably the only real option we have..

If you look at some of the teams in the Premier League:

Begovic, Bardsley, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, N'Zonzi, Whelan, Walters, Bojan, Moses, Crouch are currently in the top half.

Speroni, Kelly, Dann, Hangeland, Ward, Puncheon, Jedinak, Ledley, Bolasie, Chamakh, Gayle are currently above us.

Heaton, Trippier, Keane, Shackell, Mee, Boyd, Marney, Jones, Arfield, Barnes, and Ings, are currently level with us.

This season has been a massive underperformance. It could change quickly, with the right results in the next couple of games, but with the lineups getting more defensive, Poyet now two thirds of the way through the season and not knowing his best side, Poyet starting to blame the fans, the crowd beginning to turn, I don't see those positive results coming tbh.

I reckon Poyet currently has a fortnight left in his job, unless he changes something quick.

That's the very least.

I honestly think the players are confused to fuck

They were yesterday. Larsson looking at the bench in the first half waving his hands around. Playing 5-2-2 when Rodwell was sent off. There were three players stood on the pitch having a meeting at one point when the ball went out of play. Poyet was noticeably off his bench a lot less yesterday as well - there didn't seem to be much clarity coming from there.
