Another gig last night

Shot the Wilkinson gig at Newcastle's O2 Academy last night. Some good lighting and production makes such a difference to the albums. Still getting used to the 70-200mm mind. Some of them were coming out a bit soft on the artists' faces but I guess that comes with practice. (should probably have used AI Servo a bit more).

Cracking shots :)

2nd one is a great shot but one thing that spoils it a bit IMO is the empty balcony… looks like a great atmosphere apart from that part which has the opposite effect. Still a good shot but would have been even better with a slightly different crop or composition

I was thinking that at the time and just thought it looked too looooooooong. The way the fisheye distorts things didn't make it look right at all either.

Aye some very good stuff.

Can't imagine ever been that "into" music that I go mad for someone on the stage like... Are they all off their tits or something?

EDIT: Or am I just getting old

90% of the people there are off their bracket.

Similar pic, but think the colours capture the mood a bit better...

Like these two.

There`s some nice pics there.

I do a fair few gigs. Maybe I`ve bumped into you in the photo pit before?? Do you do mostly Dance stuff or do you wander into more Rocky areas?

I`m hoping to do Slipknot in January. I`ve done them before and they`re pretty interesting to shoot. probably the best though was Kiss....great show and did loads of poses just for the photographers !!!!

Here`s some of my pics although I do need to update them with some more recent ones I`ve done

Very much staying in dance stuff for now. Enjoying the music more makes me want to blow my brains out less having to deal with the crowds and other politics.

One thing I've found quite ironic is the willing copyright infringement by some of the music artists to post the photos without permission and without even crediting the photographer.
