I am only Newcastle fan in office here, there are 3 Sunderland. We are watching together on Sunday but agreed no talk of it until Sunday at 5pm. Loads of banter usually but ultimately just 4 lads from NE.

There is a lot of new money in Atyrau which brings a lot of 'bairns' with attitude. Mix in ex-pats on 6 days a week and 12 hour days and Saturday nights can get lively.

We are at the point where there is nee piss take anymore, marra. We just talk about the match.

There was a nightclub in the Tengiz camp, I was in one night having a piss when I get belted from behind, I turned round, still having a piss to be confronted by half a dozen locals looking for bother. Thankfully a massive brummie lad came in and belted one, the others fucked off. He told me I should thank myself lucky as an Ex-pat got stabbed the previous week.

Horrible, horrible people.

No beer in the camp now, except on Sundays and only then after everyone has clocked off.
10pm curfew as well.

Atyrau is dodgy in some areas on weekends, but like Camberwick Green Sunday-Thursday. Pays the school fees though!!

Some outstanding locals of the female variety though.

This is my first winter and it is not as bad as i was expecting.... yet.
Only had a couple of days of real cold, -15 / -18 but January meant to be the worst.
Don't spend much time out of warm meetings to be honest, really feel for those on site.

Home on Tuesday so could care less as long as that plane leaves the tarmac to be honest......
