NEWCASTLE (4-2-3-1):
Even if they get an emergency keeper looks like their wheels have come off after Arsenal and Spurs from Northern Echo Reviews

Perez is a good player, keep him quiet and we will win comfortably

3 Alnwick: Dropped a monumental clanger as he spilled Eriksen’s corner and finished the game holding his shoulder in some discomfort

4 Dummett: The switch to the right-hand side didn’t work as he was unable to contain Chadli as he drifted in from the Spurs left

4 Coloccini: Never looked particularly comfortable all evening and was chasing shadows for much of the second half

3 Williamson: Suffered at the hands of Kane just as he had against Danny Ings this month – a player badly out of form

5 Haidara: Tried to provide some energy breaking forward down the left, but was never particularly secure in a defensive capacity

5 Colback: Failed to stem the tide of Tottenham attacks and found himself dropping ever deeper in an attempt to plug the gaps

4 Sissoko: Came close with a first-half effort, but dropped out of the game in the second half and was replaced after picking up a knock

5 Cabella: Started brightly in the first 20 minutes, but couldn’t connect with Perez’s driven cross and wasn’t a factor in the second half

7 PEREZ: The one bright spark from a Newcastle perspective as his movement and pace caused the Spurs defence problems

4 Gouffran: Another nondescript showing from a player who is rapidly beginning to frustrate the Newcastle fans

4 Riviere: Returned to the starting line-up for the first time since September, but didn’t look sharp and failed to retain possession

They are bricking it....Pardew in particular!..he knows what it means if lowly Sunderland beat the Mighty Magpies again!.. im sure if we beat them he will be sacked, watch this space,if they win they will forget that they had the best chance of winning a trophy in years!! no doubt they will get a Good! keeper in by crying to the fa and no doubt!! Cisse, Tiote and Bambi Ameobi will recover in time for Sunday, the Scum are as corrupt as Blatter...just hope Goodness prevails for the 4th time!

a new keeper with a currently shambolic defence..bring it on. Haidara back as well...another waste of space

If this is correct, the Prem Lg will kick it into touch as the lad on loan counts a mag player even tho the is loaned out and Freddie Woodman is the other keeper.....unless Freddie pulls his hamstring in training today !
Am I correct ?

If they are down to one fit keeper they can apply to bring another one in.

I would like to think that the premier league would first need to verify the injury, scans etc

A Premier League spokesman said: “Newcastle United are not eligible to sign a goalkeeper on emergency loan as they have three fit goalkeepers on the books, Jak Alnwick, Freddie Woodman and Karl Darlow.

“Only clubs with one fit goalkeeper are eligible.”

Darlow is currently out on loan at Nottingham Forest but the Premier League spokesman confirmed players out on domestic loan still count

I take your point and I wonder if the rules have changed viz. squad size.
The Man City situation was 4 registered keepers :
Given, Taylor, Hart (loan), Nielsen.

Newcastle have five registered keepers.
I hope to hell this makes a difference in the eyes of the PL and in the spirit of the game.

So, now you've went from 'they can't loan another keeper. FACT' to 'I hope the rules apply to inconvenience them'.

Make up your mind, man.
