Unreal

RIP

I don't normally get affected by stuff like this, but this has genuinely saddened me

He was such an amazing talent. I've argued his cause for selection in the Aussie team and twitter countless times. But sounds like such a good bloke. Typical Aussie country bloke, humble but hard as fuckin nails and incredibly hard working.

I think this will have a big impact on the game, Watson, Haddin and Lyon were round the bat, starc and Watson were on the pitch. Hughes generation of players, smith, Warner etc, it's going to be very difficult to move on. Can that play with the same aggression and intensity after their mate has gone this way. Can they really sledge players and support Johnson bowling 90mph bouncers. I hope they can but very difficult

Awful, awful news
Warne said as much regarding the team, tbh if it was me I'm not sure I'd be able to play in the same manner again.

Few times last season I batted without a lid because it was too hot, and i've an oldish one so its not light. Wont ever be not wearing one though, i know he had one on but it could be the difference between life and death. Will invest in a new style one as well, shocking news, such a waste. Feel for the bowler too, needs all the support he can get. RIP

More information on here.

Told the bairn this morning, gutted. Said that it made him wonder about his safety out in the middle. I guess one or two bairns might wonder that. Completely freak accident. I read somewhere that only 100 people are known to have died from such an injury.
There is already an issue in some clubs about fewer participants in the junior section. Even if this doesn't put off some of the kids...it might put off the parents.

Just read that the chances of the injury happening in cricket were 1 in a billion and they are more common in high speed car crashes.

God has taken him, RIP Phillip Hughes
