I'm not sure North Korea recognises the right of South Korea to exist, or whether Spain and Argentina recognise the rights of Gibraltar and the Falklands respectively, but I'm not sure what your point is.
why is nt israel asked to recognise palestines right to exist ?

Not only is a state’s “right to exist” not a fundamental principle of IR, it’s a complete fiction.

That’s why you’ve never heard the phrases “the United States’ right to exist” or “Slovakia’s right to exist,” for example. The United States and Slovakia do not recognize one another by proclaiming each other’s “right to exist.” They recognize one another by engaging in diplomatic relations — by allowing each other to maintain embassies and by receiving each other’s ambassador.

So when Palestinians are asked to recognize Israel’s “right to exist” as part of the dog and pony show known as the “peace process,” they are being asked to do something that in the long, storied annals of Westphalian-era diplomacy, no other state has ever had to do.

The kicker is that the Palestinians have already recognized Israel just as they would recognize any other state in the international arena.

On the last paragraph why do Hamas and their supporters still use the phrase 'from the river to the sea'.

Yitzhak Rabin
Prime Minister of Israel
Mr. Prime Minister,
The signing of the Declaration of Principles marks a new era...I would like to confirm the following PLO commitments: The PLO recognizes the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace and security. The PLO accepts United Nations Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338. The PLO commits itself...to a peaceful resolution of the conflict between the two sides and declares that all outstanding issues relating to permanent status will be resolved through negotiations...the PLO renounces the use of terrorism and other acts of violence and will assume responsibility over all PLO elements and personnel in order to assure their compliance, prevent violations and discipline violators...the PLO affirms that those articles of the Palestinian Covenant which deny Israel's right to exist, and the provisions of the Covenant which are inconsistent with the commitments of this letter are now inoperative and no longer valid. Consequently, the PLO undertakes to submit to the Palestinian National Council for formal approval the necessary changes in regard to the Palestinian Covenant.
Sincerely,
Yasser Arafat.
Chairman: The Palestine Liberation Organization.

But the PLO don't exist anymore. Why do Hamas and their supporters chant 'from the river to the sea'?

why has hamas come about in the first place ?
What does from the river to the sea mean and what does it imply about Hamas' view on israel's right to exist?[/QUOTE]

I've said that i have no idea and again, why is hams even around ? its because the palestinians have stated that they recognise israels right to exist yet israel has responded with grabbing more land

hamas hasnt arisen from no where, its come from decades of israel not engaging in a peaceful settlement

does israel recognise pales tines right to exist ?

The river is the Jordan and the sea is the med. it is the area that Hamas wants to drive 'the Jews' from ie all of it. In other words, while Hamas is in control of Gaza there is no negotiating with them.

it means a return to the 1967 borders and israel has no interest in negotiating thats why it invents bollocks like the issue of right to exist

Mahmoud Al-Zahar said: “We [aim to liberate] all our lands. If we have the
option, we will establish a state on every inch of land within the 1967
[borders], but this does not by any means imply that we will relinquish our right
to all the Palestinian lands. We want all of Palestine from [Ras] Naqura to
Rafah, and from the [Mediterranean] sea to the [Jordan] river.” [

We all know what theyre doing. What's your point?

My points are thus:

Why should the Israeli's be allowed to grab other people's land?

Why should they be allowed to murder people by the thousand?

Why should the Israeli's find it necessary to assassinate elected representatives?

Why should the Israeli's be allowed to occupy the land of their neighbours whilst flouting UN resolutions and international law.

I could go on.

They're an abomination. They've behaved so badly for so long that it's almost impossible for the Palestinians (and others) to make peace. However, every time peace looks like breaking out the Israeli's find a way of provoking a reaction.

They're managing this land grab under the gaze of the so called guardians of the free world.

The lapdog press just report the required line, its hypocrisy on a grand scale.
