Breese's new job

Breese, Cole Pearce and Chris Martin got the three roles as far as I am aware PC did not get one despite being a more than qualified candidate.
How did Paul Carrick not get a role? He had been with the ladies team all last season and they did well. He's a really good coach. Very surprised at that.

2 of the lads are from CLS CC (Cole & Chris). Along with Liam Simpson that makes 3 x CLS CC affiliated coaches at the DCB. TBH I didnt know that Chrissie Martin (canny lad BTW) had any badges although he did turn up at one of the DCB U12 games away at Cumbria last year to assist.

I wonder who will take the U12s, U13s and Womens team next year then? U13s interests me the most.

Wonder if Breese will turn out for the Academy  Next season sure I saw that they were going to mix it up next year?????
They are going to mix it up next year. Not sure if it was because they never seem to do very well but from what I've heard they are going to try and bolster the Academy team in the NEPL with some experienced club cricketers. There were loads of younguns turning out for the Academy. Some 15/16 or so years old.

Bit of a kick in the teeth to anyone turned down for the role if the bloke offered it says he is only taking it if nothing else comes along!

Not to say Gareth wouldnt get this position on his own merits (far from it) but he is friendly with people who work for the DCB.

Just heard a rumour, second hand, that Breese has signed for Burnopfield ??
He has, along with Callum Thorp.

The bairn was at the DCB U12/13 advanced batting classes this morning. Geoff Cook turned up. Looked well.

I asked what his position is now and it was confirmed that he is Head of Cricket at Durham CCC. Good too see him remaining in some capacity.

John Lewis also down. John Windows there as well (canny lad JW).

That's Burnopfield strolling through DCL2 (and probably the DCL1 thereafter) then.
Theyre clearly gunning for the PL. Backed by one or two lads with money. Not sure how much they have left from selling their old ground and building the new one.

There could be some farcical scores next season in their games - if they are going to open the bowling with Breeze at one end and Thorp at the other, then you'll get the odd DCL2 team being bowled out for less than 40 or 50. There are plenty of good cricketers in the Durham League, but a lot of DCL2 teams don't bat deep, and these two were playing first class cricket last year.

You may well be right. As far as I'm aware both Breese and Thorp will play all their games ie they dont play for anyone else that I'm aware of and both have been committed to playing recreational cricket for teams last season. Thorp was at CLS CC and Breese was at Consett or Shotley Bridge I think.
