Stuff with paper and leave in warm place. Mine all stink like!!
Anyone do the XC at Durham today?? 6 miles of mud n banks, enjoyed it but brutal run. Now for ale n curry.

Must have been tough mate as was really muddy this morning when I was out , rained heavy last night.
Well done !

Foam roller yes, doesn't seem to help - though to be honest I give up on it too easily.

Running on a treadmill doesn't seem to aggravate it as much as outdoors does. I've got a new knee support to try out - hoping that will help. Otherwise I might just end up going all out for as long as I can manage, rather than running solid for more than 20 minutes

Lost the whole of 2013 with ITB......Foam rollering it needs to be done 2 or 3 times a day to be really effective....Roller the fecker to bits.....Best stretch I have found for it is this

Missed it myself, a lot of the club did it though. Heard lots of good feedback about it. Wallington next weeks a cracking course too

Aye if it ran to time could prob get back for it, albeit a bit clarty. They were dead late last year though . . .remember finishing in near darkness
There was mega traffic problems. Nearly changed it to two laps. Don't want to risk it.

Think I might be getting shin splints back.

Pity that like. . I'm yet to find a remedy for mine. Persisting with ice, foam rolling and a little less running for time being. I won't be fit enough to run Saturday so will have to suffer Chelsea match as well :)

Lost my running mojo again lately as I've been a bit low again. Back to park run on Saturday though & have to get a serious handle on my training as I'm now entered for the Sunderland city 10k, Keswick mountain festival 5k trail and the Great North 10k (cheeky early begging link https://www.justgiving.com/Joanne-Snee/)

I'm determined to crack this, starting with a pb next Saturday fingers crossed! All encouragement & advice gratefully received!!

Starting physio on my this afternoon so hopefully that'll help out a bit.

Well the physio can make me feel the pain in my knee purely by pressing on a tight area of my back and also by pressing on the piriformis... Got some stretches to try to loosen things up a bit so hopefully i'm on the road to recovery!

Did you see a nhs physio?

Signed up for my 1st ever Marathon today. Greater Manchester on 19th of April. The longest run I've ever done before was the Great North Run & my last one of those was 2003 so I'm bricking it now.

I'm volunteering on Sat, will give you a shout out on lap 3

Any speed work tips for improving my 10k time? Did a tempo 4 mile tonight but wondering what else I could try?

Try some interval training. Running hard for a defined period with rest in between; eg. 4x5minute runs with 90 secs rest between each or 10x2mins with 75 secs rest. If you train on a track sub the time for distance, eg. 4x1mile or 16 x 400m.

Pyramids is good one too . . 1min, 2min, 3min, 4min, 5min, 4min, 3min, 2min, 1min.

Try to find a route that's fairly flat so you don't end up doing one effort up a hill. I train on an industrial estate normally.

Try to do two sessions a week doing this sort of stuff, mixing up the distances a bit. . . you'll feel the benefit.

There's a fair bit on the net about this, search interval training or fartlek.

good luck
