How bloody good is Columbo?

They were all about the crack. Columbo, Rockford, Kojak, Quincy always supporting the underdog, loads of them. A big feature of my childhood.

It's f***ing brilliant like. Even some of the later ones were canny, check out the one where some bloke opens a new nightclub and buries the body under the fishtank on the dancefloor

Columbo at the end "well this place could really have been something. Too bad"

I think it is fantastic. However Two downsides: firstly, I just can't spare that amount of time to watch it on a weekend. Secondly, you need to watch an episode from the very beginning for it to make sense. Almost always I stumble across it after it has already started. Not the sort of thing you can pick up part-way in.

The murderers just can't hack it, if they kept schtum most of the people caught by Columbo, Jessica Fletcher and Mark Sloane would get away with it.

In the end, they get so much circumstantial evidence, but still not enough for prosecution that they have to setup some sort of ruse that the killer always falls for and outs themself. They then break down and provide a full confession.

Shocking that there's need episodes of Columbo in Itunes. Anyone know where I can download from?

the one with jc is f***ing brilliant

He even sings my fave hangover song

" sunday morning coming down "

I watched it yesterday and looked it up later. Frightening to discover it is FORTY years old.

JG Reeder was a great British tec show but probably forgotten about now. I know you can get it on DVD.

I'm currently reading the book. I remember the television series with Hugh Burden.

Originally by Kris Kristofferson

I think Peter Falk is brilliant and I'm not averse to a Sunday afternoon detective show. I think maybe I was put off by the fact you know who the killer is from the start. I shouldn't really, the unmasking of the killer at the end is only a small part of the story. Maybe I'll watch the next Columbo that's on.

Peter Falk is a brilliant actor, I love his collaborations with Cassavetes.
