I think he had a poor season last year overall, with his marking from corners in particularly costing us a good five or six goals at the least in all competitions. Thought he might be past it this season, but so far no concerns at all, he's been quite good. Whilst we clearly lack numbers and some quality at the back, he isn't the centre half I'd be looking to replace.

Absolute nonsense, he was immense last season in the league and cups, wonder what games some people are watching sometimes

Been good this season, last season he wasn't great like let's be fair

Err he was absolute quality last season

He's had a good season up to now and we need him to be on his game for the next few matches without a doubt, if we hope to get anything from any of them.
Here's hoping he can marshall that defence and we can nick some points. He gets stick from our fans but he is a lot better than some think.
Against better opposition he will struggle unless Brown sits.

He was dreadful last season but has been good this year. Not sure why, tbh.

Or I he was good he ended up getting dropped for Cuellar a few times ffs

once and we got beat 5-1

You did a good job of disproving your own argument in one post there, well done.

dreadful?

He was absolute key to some ridiculous wins

3-0 at mags, Man utd in league and cup, man city at home and draw away, chelsea away and home in cup

He was f***ing dreadful aye mate.

Some people really are blind.

You are indeed.

Err he was absolutely hopeless at the start of the season as we attempted to push up and were regularly exposed. Until Brown came back he was all at sea and he was dropped, it was Brown who knitted things back together at that point. He did improve as we did and towards the end of the season the whole team hit a freak bit of form, but since you mention the cups look at how we conceded against Man Utd when he was pushed to one side and gave Vidic a free run from a corner, against West Ham at home in the league the same happened and that was repeated quite a few times over that season. For someone so experienced he just wasn't switched on.

He's playing well now, but just as Brown isn't, O'shea wasn't for decent chunks of last season. You could also argue that seeing how horrific we've been at the back on the occasions during spells under O'Neill, Di Canio and Poyet where we've attempted to push up and the defence hasn't been allowed to sit back with protection that having O'Shea, Brown etc in there who are so slow and easily exposed when opposition sides are allowed to isolate them, that this has a real negative effect on our attacking play and one of the reasons we sit so deep. I can't be arsed to get into all that though, I just don't think he was very good last season.

he was excellent last season, the results against the top teams speak for themselves

the only time he was dodgy was under PDC, but he was one of the worst managers of all time

So the results against the top teams speaks for itself? we aren't able to consider performances and results against the 'lesser' sides?

He certainly wasn't 'excellent'.

Totally and utterly disagree, he's one of the reasons we have managed to stay in the division, despite having a small squad lacking quality, pace and goals

We pretty much have to keep a clean sheet or we don't win

Credit where it's due and he's due some for this seasons performances, he was very poor before this season though, anyone that couldn't see that is an idiot.

Agreed. Most consistent. Some excellent performances in there too, like today.
Tbh I have nothing but respect for him. He gives 100% every time and tonight he and Wes were on the ball. They certainly haven't come here for the easy ride.
They could be both taking it easy in Cheshire but give their all every week and JOS pulls his puddings out for his country too.
If they can play like that against Citeh and the scousers we could get more points on the board.
