I had a day off work on friday so I thought I'd do a bit of shopping for presents

Pc world was handy so I popped in to buy a kindle paperwork for the missus. After quite a while trying to attract attention from an assistant, I went to a counter, waited in a queue... only to be told I couldn't be served there but they made a 'customer waiting' announcement ... still left waiting so I left and bought one elsewhere. It wasnt busy in pc world but they had more important things to deal with than mere customers.

In four other shops I couldn't get what I wanted either (we don't have that in stock...not that size...not that colour etc) They offered to order it on line for me so I could come back and collect.

So eventually I came home and ordered from Amazon and direct from the manufacturer

They'll be moaning about low sales on the high street in January.

One of my pet hates in these shops certainly mobile phone shops
Staff normally round you like likes round shit when you put a foot in the door

Order most of mine online as well. Spend too much of the working week in shops and can't stand going shopping.

I went in PC World with £700 to buy a laptop and printer for the club. Walked out 5 minutes later still with £700 notes in my wallet. Had neen of the stuff I'd eyed up on the website in stock, not even my second choices. Wouldn't be surprised if that went under soon.

Just about done for the kids, all online (apart from a Sunderland top)

Can't be arsed with the Christmas cattle market carry on

I called in about 3 weeks ago. Picked up a polo shirt for £15 and a Steve McQueen Rexton jacket for £100. Don't think il be as lucky again with the jacket.

I wasnt really after anything in particular but it was rammed and there was nowt decent.

its more cost effective for them to hold the majority of stock centrally rather than tie up cash by having the stock sitting where there is no demand. They are Increasingly becoming and ordering interface

Puts me off even going in for a browse in some places. I've bought things online just to escape the hassle of over eager sales people.

I only had cash so online wasn't an option. Ended up buying them in that well known IT retailer Tesco.

As someone said, going under then.

A website is an ordering interface, a shop is a place to attend, cash in hand, leaving with goods in exchange for said cash. People only still use shops as they can put their hands on the item and have it same day at home.
