Lots of things in the pipeline but still a few things to do to get them into fruition.

The next of the Urban Trail Series is planned for late February which will be on the Durham Coast and into Castle Eden Dene. We are waiting on confirmation of permissions from Natural England and then this one is ready to release.

We should then have the Kielder night time Marathon in March, the planning is continuing on this one but it is has been a really slow process, still working on it and will get news of that out asap.

We are looking at a short race at Easter in Washington, probably around 5 miles that we are describing as a "stepping stones" race ie it is a great intro into running trials.

We are looking to get Penshaw 2 on a bit earlier to avoid the GNR clash and are looking to mid June there. This date will be dependent on the National Trust at Penshaw who cannot confirm for some time due to some internal re-organisations.

Finally we already have St Cuthberts Ultra open. There are two distances, the 100k race that starts on Holy Island and finishes in Melrose in Scotland then a 40 mile option that covers the latter 2/3rd of the 100k route from Wooler to Melrose. This is in July.

I would be hugely disappointed if all the above did not come off but like anything in this country things seem to grind along at a snails pace as it is a constant battle to cut through all the red tape and bureaucracy. :)

Brilliant news. Cheers mate

The February race sounds interesting, keep us posted. Penshaw was great, going to invest in some trail shoes and train on part of the route next time roud. Like to think doing Penshaw helped me break 1:40 in Nottingham two weeks ago

Any news on the castle eden run mate? What distance is it going to be?

It's back!!!!! The Pieces of 8 @ Penshaw monument trail race is now open for entries for 2015. Described as "The most brutal 10k I have ever done" by the 2014 mens race winner we have added a marathon to the existing half and 10k races forthose of you who simply do not know when you have had enough! After numerous requests we have shifted the date to June so as not to clash with the GNR, we reckon our new June date should give your battered legs just about enough recovery time!!!!

NB: Si entries is temporarily showing two half marathons, one at £32, one at £22, the £32 one is the marathon option

If anybody wants to run either the 13.1 or 10k route will organise a couple of recces on a Sunday morning. Let me know and which Sundays would be good. Some of those hills are amazing in the wet autumn/winter :)

A few more irons in the fire and some of them getting really hot, hopefully have some more announcements very soon :)

that's kind of you mate, i'll keep eye out incase you get few responses, I wouldn't mind trying the 10k route sometime

No probs, what I will probs do is just put a date and time up there and then those who want to recce can......The Marathon is going to be two loops of the half....We looked at alternatives but the half is so brutal we couldnt resist sending people round twice, less is deffo more on this course

Did the 10k last Tuesday and it was very wet down by the river, be a good run when the ground hardens up a bit with a frost.

Trail Outlaws are delighted to present our latest race the Sandstone Way Ultra. With 100km and 200km options this race follows the stunning new Sandstone Way Trail from Berwick Upon Tweed at the very top of Northumberland to Hexham at the very bottom. This is a fantastic opportunity to be one of the first people to run this new way marked trail through arguably Britains most stunning landscapes. Get on it Outlaws!!!!

As suggested by @Bagpuss anyone fancy doing a training run of the 10k or half route in the near future? I did the 10k route by memory in November when I had a week off and it was muddy and tough but enjoyed it.

Think I'll do the half again in June.

Happy to do recces whenever anybody fancies it, either the 10k course or the half marathon......Am in Northumberland tomorrow but if anybody wants too let me know and can do a recce either early Saturday morning or Sunday morning most weekends :)

We will also be doing plenty of organised recces before the day too....Even if you just want a new training loop or then worth having a dodge out
