visited for the first time today and the carvery lunch is absolute quality imo. well worth a visit

2 drinks, one medium, one large cavery less than £18

the large pushed me to the limits but i got through the lot

turkey, beef, peas, two sausages, 2 yorkshire pud, carrots, parsnips, stuffing, mashed tattie and a turnip/carrot combo, cauliflower, red cabbage and a choice of gravies plus roast tatties

a definite worth checking out.
 


after that lot, we went on to see interstellar.

we enjoyed it, unrealistic but a film that is worth seeing, to form your own opinion

mark kermode's review on it for bbc news was imo spot on and i could see exactly where he was coming from
 
I went the other Sunday and it was the worst Sunday Lunch I've had in my life.

Over boiled, reheated, tasteless veg and a "chef" that sliced the meat with the precision of a bacon slicer.

Messy tables and no organisation. Nice big car park though!

Awful, just awful.

incredible this as it could not be further than the reality of what we had today

i have experience all over the place, washington, sunderland, chester le street, newcastle and the above is miles off what i saw today.
 
Been there a couple of times, it was alright the first time and shite the second, albeit the second time was on a sunday and the f***ing massive queue put a downer on things before i even started. Basically no better or worse than a load of these quick and easy carvery serving places

never been in durham for food strangely. no reason, just never got round to it

looking at those above and i get a feeling that sundays are stowed off as it is anywhere, these days.

i only judge on what i got and it was superb.
 
i must learn never to post anything of this sort again
