Aye I fancy that one. Been looking at Blackpool half too at end of April . . an adequate replacement for Sunderland if it's not on

Sunderland wasn't announced until mid November last year. Reckon it'll definitely be on, but they could do with getting on and announcing it!

Have a goodun dan, were at a christening Sunday otherwise would have popped in the club Sunday afternoon for few Morretti

Another 5.3 miles clocked up this morning. What I think is a shin splint in me right leg so a few days rest I think. Have done 27 miles in the last week so probably need a rest anyway!

I'm signed up for that one & pretty much for the same reason.

I fancy a drink at the match the night before so I'm wavering

Another park run this morning, delighted to have knocked another nearly 2 mins off my time. Starting to feel real progress, especially now I've started running without music.

10 miles today and fell over on my very last step of the 10 mile, buggered my elbow and cannot change gear whilst driving as I cannot move my elbow properly, off to hospital in the morning if no improvment

Well I have a slight crack in one of the bones around my elbow, 3-4 weeks being careful, going to have a week off the running until I can straighten my arm

Paced the wife today and she did a PB. You doing the Saltwell 10k? The day after black friday....

Failed at the Parkrun having had too many desporados on Friday;(put in a canny(for me)time of 21:56 today doing the same course(whitley bay)

I'm in for the 10 mile Northumberland thing as well, am also tempted by the half next year but waiting to see what Sunderland announce before trying to plan my spring out. Am contemplating the Druridge Bay Marathon at the minute looks like small event is four laps of the course, has anyone done that one?

6mile exactly tonight, most I've ran in a long time , included bede bank (Barnes up to board inn) so happy that I felt pretty strong, couple days rest then try again

Good stuff. You'll be joining your lass at the club shortly.

listening to the latest trail outlaws podcast i believe jon steele (hardmoors race organiser) has the best job in the world!
ok i'm sure there's plenty of admin but he races all over europe and i somehow think those costs go against the company as tax deductible(R&D?). great gig if you can get it!

Yes your own racing is tax deductible lol as of course is all your running equipment......Have to say though, the amount of paperwork, meetings and red tape involved in getting a new race off the ground are beyond belief. For instance Trail Outlaws race at St Cuthberts involved negotiations with over 50 land owners, Safety and Advisory committees both at councils north and south of the border amongst other things....The day of an event itself is a tremendous buzz, as big as any buzz you get running and racing yourself but it is incredibly stressful too.....Deffo a full time job to put on a decent series of races. The problem of course is you dont get to put on 10 races straight away so you have to try and balance a full time day job so you can live, with a second full time job trying to grow your race portfolio to a point when you can gieve up your day job. At some point you hit a catch 22 where you cant afford to leave work because you dont have enough races but you cant put on more races cause you dont have the time cause you cant afford to leave work.....Brilliant when you eventually get to the promised land I guess but I have definitely had my eyes opened this last year :)
