Harmison told Richardson to leave DCCC

To be fair he probably had a point. With Mustard doing very well at the time and still at a decent age, Durham wasn't the ideal place for an aspiring keeper.

My biggest worry with this however, is how Harmison is continuing to burgle a living. Reading that article was probably one of the most painful experiences of my life. I genuinely can't see why any publication would pay for that to be written.

he might have had a point but still the idea of him telling one of our young promising cricketers he should leave the county leaves a very sour taste in the mouth...

Yes I think once Ben was released from the club Harmison was a bitter man and a disruptive influence in th Dressing Room. Very short sighted really because Durham would have been his best opportunity for meaningful employment after retiring from playing.

This ^

Even worse that he saw fit to publicise it as well.

Put on the timber since retiring. Seen him at the Portland at Ashington, took me a moment to realise it was him.

and now borthwick.

ben harmison went on to have a great career. 'LOL'

Love how he says if was Borthwick he'd be wondering about moving away when his lip wobbled every time he got on a plane.

Harmison will end up sat in some grotty club in Ashington signing beer mats and prattling on about how he used to be someone. I've no time for the bloke and haven't since he started whining about Durham in public when his kid got the heave-ho.

Ben Harmison, Kyle Coetzer, Will Gidman and Mitch Claydon have had great careers elsewhere.

well... will gidman anyway.

Isn't he just saying what loads on here have already said about Scott?

Interesting that he mentions the stick that he got for the Richardson column. Does he get on here? :)

aye, but we're talking amongst ourselves, not spewing it to public media and potentially affecting the real world - darren bent a case in point.

But..... that's his job, he's supposed to be commenting on cricket which means saying what he thinks. Hundred, thousands nay millions upon millions of retired cricketers have done the same.

In any case, I can't think it does any damage stating the obvious or at least saying what one of the options SB has no doubt already considered.
