Probably more chance of a nepl3 with the rest just playing 1 team cricket

2nd team cricket should never be an option in a good standard of cricket. If teams are struggling to field one then they should move to a league where you only need 1 team.

How many clubs will this leave NEDL with if correct?

They've lost Medomsley, coxhoe, bear park and now 2 more in 12 months
Will take the NEDL down to 11(or 12 if the rumoured self relegation of one from DCL is to be believed).

Still ok for a decent league but to me the NEDL should now be opening talks with the DCL as to how to align themselves to the promotion/relegation scenario(possible DCL3??)

the longer they bury their head in the sand the more chance they have of losing clubs and then it just becomes a farce if you go below 10 imo (remember the farce they had of NEDL 3 couple of years ago - we ended up playing teams 4 times!!)

Who is dropping down? Langley Park was mentioned on here a good while ago

I would suggest DCL and NEDL combine and have a league structure similar to NYSD.
Top division, all first teams.
Subsequent divisions could see weaker first teams playing some, stronger, second teams.
Promotion and relegation, but only stipulation is that you cannot have your firsts and seconds in the same division.
Clubs could participate in the league with only one team.
All clubs would find their level very quickly.
Format like DCL without the stupid time "cut off".

Decent post

The NEDCL are members of the new league pyramid, which starting from next year a club winning the NEDL will be promoted to the DCL and one team relegated if relevant criteria i.e. ground and facilities are met. A number of the upper clubs in the NEDL are not far off reaching the ground specs for the DCL.

Is this areangement a recent development?
I assume refusing promotion is not an option unless ground isnt up to standard

Dunno but didnt original pyramid fall apart cos teams didnt want to go up or down?

Only lad the Kimmer boys are after is the old bastard with the big mouth and big dogs

It fell apart because of the going down not going up bit

Think it's more that big gobs son they didn't like, him that looks like Helen Degeneres

So does the promotion of Burnmoor and Tudhoe now mean the NEPL2 is at full quota? I'm assuming no team(s) were relegated??

Good luck to both but as already mentioned - Tudhoe's ground is nowt owa. Possibly the worst in the league.

I think it has been inplace since DCL was formed but does not apply til next year to allow settling in period for Durham league. I believe a club can refuse on reasonable grounds. Whatever that means.
