I notice that the grass around the houses where The Baseball Ground once was at Derby is in a better condition than the grass on the pitch ever was ( and it looks shit to be honest ).......It used to resemble a beach most of the time back in the day.

You couldn't graze farm animals on the old Baseball Ground. There wasn't a blade of grass on it for decades.
I remember watching one game and it was like a f**king swamp.
 
That's just made me miss Roker Park and the 'olden days' all over again.
 
Old style english football grounds are few and far between these days, massive shame.

I remember going to the Baseball Ground in 97 for a FA cup quarter final and it was fantastic. Really made me miss Ayresome.
 
What a chance was missed to remember some great old players when they named the streets where Roker stood.
