Too tired after work to train

I simply cant do gym after work, if I do its only cardio. Pre-workout energy drinks have worked for me for years but looking at them, they have about 280 calories in them. Recently started overdosing on caffeine pills as replacement.

i do cardio in the evenings and weights in the morning but that's more because it is packed in the evening till near chucking out time. i'm lucky mind cuz my shift fits around it perfectly and i live about 2 minutes from my gym.

Need to get myself sorted - but need a kickstart to get me going.

plenty of advice already been given on this thread so not much to add - i'll just say don't let it get you down if you end up sacking it off a few days in a row- the harder you are on yourself the easier it is to carry on moping, if you need a break here or the world conspires to stop you just promise yourself to get back on it when you can - feel good when you manage to go instead of feeling bad when you can't. even if you're just sneaking in a quick 20 or 30 minutes here or there it is a start and leads to good things.

sorry to hear this pal, hope things brighten up. if work is that bad then don't stick at it, crack on looking for another job and pack it in as soon as you can afford to.

I like quite a few of the people, but there's some piss-taking going on that nobody dares to fix.

If I walk, I won't be pennyless, but I had got a kid on the way, so need to think about that too.

don't let excuses ruin your progress, it's easy to go oh i didn't do it today because of this, or because of that, but really chances are they aren't valid excuses.

I suggest a calendar, personally i do insanity every morning and although i cant remember that if your legs,knees and hips are fucked,
its more the routine that im pointing out, you have to do like 6 days a week and it makes me feel shit if i miss a day.
I'm far from a morning person, but at work i feel miles better after insanity, and after a few weeks, i was doing it without realizing,
although getting up always sucked, once i was up, it was fine, the warm up would wake me up.

You can suggest anything, and I'm not being flippant, but I'm FUCKED when I get home. And these last 2 weeks, miserable as fuck.

When work gets back to normal, I can get back on the whores.

I feel like the op quite a bit too. Up at 6am out the door at 7 to graft, back in at 6:30, half an hour playing with the bairn, put him to bed at 7 which is usually the best part of an hour 8-10pm and I'm fucked, past 10pm and I get a second wind, bed at around 12am. And repeat.....around twice a week I try and force myself out for a run at around 7:30pm if I can but it's a struggle. Once I'm going I'm fine like.

totally understandable, misery sucks all the energy out of you leaving you drained just from making it through the day. but using energy up in the gym gives you more energy in the long run - it is really hard but you just have to push yourself through - the good feeling you will get from having pushed yoursef and responded will give you something to repsect yourself for, life is shit but at least i am exercising or whatever - and with each little victory you'll get back closer to being you and being happy.

how about this as an idea - when you're fucked after 10pm instead of staying up and getting a second wind and going to kip at midnight go to be around 10 or 11 or whenever it is you're feeling crashed out, then wake up earlier and go to the gym on the way to work?

can't mate. got to drop the bairn and wife at her mams at 7.20. I then have a 30 minute drive up the A1 to work which I start at 8. Only option is getting up at 5 and going running.
